The importance of friends is priceless when battling thru the tough times in life and there's plenty to go around on this board. There's no way to describe how helpful the good comments and caring goes towards the process of healing. You people are all awesome!

Known by his elders as Randy. That being me. I  call him Jr.  because that's relative.
Soooooo........ this man deserves you admiration & respect. End of argument!!!

Thank You's / Re: Snow & Tees Channahon

I was out there today & my reports are confirmed. They look good.I see #19 was shoveled, similar to the other tees. This may or not apply to you relative to throwing to the practise basket. There is a sign there politely asking NOT to throw toward the parking lot. Whether you throw from there or not it's been cleaned, offers a throw from there.
If this does not relate to you it may to others reading it. That's is only posted rule there. Among other things, I'd like to make something that will give more room for posts & rules.
It may not be a big deal to some, but it's a big deal to the park. They have the power & one day the basket will get yanked.
Back to Ben, cleaning behind & around the tees was a nice touch.

I had another thought about getting donations. Some of you may live with your parents. Chances are good you're parents have heard about Morning Star Mission. Would drop a word about what we're doing & see if they'll donate something?

To start I'm feeling OK.
I got another hormone shot today (zoladex). Every time I took the shot, the nurse suggested I don't look at the needle. Needless to say, I followed her instructions. This is an implant of a capsule injected into the stomach. They freeze the area so it's painless.
The nurse spent an extended time today answering my questions relative to my side effects. Tired, shortness of breath, itching. Mood changes is another, but I think I'm doing well with that, at least from outward appearance. She checked my oxygen intake & it's 95, above average.
Cancer is a war & for me a World War. Because of the side effects I'm reminded often during the day , I have cancer. I've got to reach back & push. I think the generic opinion is I'll be fine & I agree. Keep me in your prayer, thoughts & support.
Oh,
Researchers have explained how antioxidants in red wine and green tea produce a combined effect to disrupt an important cell signaling pathway necessary for prostate cancer growth.
Above is copied & I'm now I'm drinking loose leaf green teas along with the red wine I drink.
An humble thank you to those who feel my anguish.
PS
Keep Randy Moore in you're thoughts & prayers also. Disc golf is his therapy & it's his way to cope with his problems.

J-Town Ice Bowl / Re: Donations for J-Town Ice Bowl

The first thing on my mind is someone mentioned to me how they wanted J-Town to be an icon or a name brand, especially in our area. I wonder how you do that? My thinking is you do things in your local area. It may be a breakfast, or a fish fry. We're having an Ice Bowl.
I know we are noticed, & the Morning Star Mission is in appreciation & they speak good of us. I realize some are hurting & just getting by but some are not.  In my search for sponsors, not everyone that gave last year are able to give this year.
We have over 40 things to raffle & more coming, so I'm not looking for things to raffle, although nothing will be refused. See if you can come up with a little cash, even $10.00.
Thanks

I was pleased with our meeting tonight.  Things went well tonight & Dave Kociuba was a welcome addition to our board. There were a lot of different things going on but it was not stressful. Gary Lewis is doing the merchandise & that's a big deal. Randy Moore also attended, he's always good for a couple of laughs. It was nice working with you men.

I want to add about our club meeting coming up that Ray posted.
There are two way to look at this, speak now or forever hold your peace, or too many cook in the kitchen. We have a number of things to go over relative to the Ice Bowl. It may be helpful with constructive input to come. Gary Lewis said he'll be there to offer his input & also Randy Moore. I'm hoping Dave K. shows up. ha! ha!

Back in the day I bought carpet from your cousin when I was building houses.

J-Town Ice Bowl / Re: Donations for J-Town Ice Bowl

Some years ago, I think 5, I was made aware about the Ice Bowls to help needy people. I thought how cool is that. What a statement that gives to the local community that disc golf is more than people out there playing with their pants half way down their butts.
I was glad that the J-Town board agreed to have this fund raiser. It not only helps others, but says something about our club in a positive way & disc golf.
Morning Star Mission has been in Joliet over a hundred years. Only 12% goes to administrative costs. That leaves 88% for programs. They don't get government aid & rely on donations.
I'm asking for donations, even if it's $10.00. $2.05 cares for one person. They run a tight ship & cherish every $1.00 given. Playing in the tournament will also be helpful, a portion of the registration goes to the Mission.
Thanks for your donation Jeff Reardon. If you would make the check out to Morning Star Mission. Send it to me,

Is this the Reardons that had the carpet store some years ago?

Another thing I discovered as of 01/14/11 they qualify to support displaced veterans along with skilled training. The first in the United States. Your support helps people that need help. Bums & freeloaders are not admitted. Tours are welcome to see what you're donating to. Like I've said, over 100 years & an icon for the Joliet area.

Has it been reported there's a basket missing. If not I'll contact the park or Gary, or both.
