1.   Hole 15 trimming up on top by basket/ it’s a jungle
2.   Hole 15 trimming path to blue tee/ it’s a jungle
3.   Hole 4 trimming Right side of fairway, it’s a jungle
4.   Garbage pickup whole park

Just a heads up, those coming out with the weed whackers, may want to keep in mind the poison ivy. Long pants will keep it off your bare legs. I'm not bullied by poison ivy, but I scratch through Oct. I can't imagine why anyone would want to go to Sinnissippi?

Really sorry I didn't make it out guys. I feel like "that" guy, but my Dad is in the hospital again and he had some complications this afternoon that scared the bejesus out of us.

Anyway, I hope it was a successful day out there.

I'm sure Jesse will have more to say, but I couldn't believe the trash at Highland. Handicap was there today. For those who don't have the tools or the means to transport them, picking the trash up, anyone can do. Randy Moore (Sr.) committed to the week of the tournament, I think he will need help. This tournament is Illinois State, it needs to represent the name. Although I'm extremely biased, it doesn't get on the board that the care Channahon gets. Lets get together & get the course ready for a supreme event.

We have major tree issues now at the course. The two storms from last weekend have just decided to leave major tree and tree limbs lying in the middle of almost every fairway. We need as many volunteers as possible with chainsaws to help cut down this mess. We are getting in touch with the Park District to see what kind of help they can lend. If you have any kind of time and a chainsaw and would like to help here’s a list of what we’re facing.

Hole 1 – Tree down over tee pad, it’s supported by another tree but looks dangerous – Chainsaw
Hole 2 – Small trees near basket – Hand cutter
Hole 3 – Big tree down right by basket – Chainsaw
Hole 4 – Big tree down and big limb in fairway – Chainsaw
Hole 6 – Big tree down by tee pad stairs – Chainsaw, smaller trees on basket side hand cutter
Hole 7 – Big tree down fairway/right of fairway – Chainsaw
Hole 9 – Tree limb by tee pad – Hand saw
Hole 10 – Big tree limb down by in front of red tee pad – Chainsaw
Hole 13 – Big tree down in fairway – Chainsaw
Hole 16 - Big tree down in fairway – Chainsaw
Hole 17 -  Big tree and limbs down in fairway – Chainsaw
Hole 18 -  Big tree down in fairway - Chainsaw

Sounds like a good cause to upgrade the chainsaw.

I went to the park to chop some trees last night and as I pulled in I noticed some of the trees had been cut and removed. As I drove and walked farther through the course I realized almost all the down trees from the storms had been cut and cleared. Wow I’m in awe! I think the Joliet Park District must of came in and did this massive job quickly. I’m still not positive but if individuals did this please let me know.
Paco is putting the finishing touches on some dangerous hanging trees. You should have seen the grin on his face when he came up with his new chainsaw. He’s like a kid in a candy store, trees don’t stand a chance with his new beast.
We are now back on track with just trimming and garbage collecting.

Thanks Paco & Chango for helping trim & cutting last night.

The big thing now is trash collecting. The course is pretty messy. People still think they can dump their personal garbage throughout the course. If anyone has time and still wants to help out then please pick-up trash.

Thanks again to everyone who has been helping.

I didn't realize it was so obvious! I was in pigs heaven, until one of those bad boys whacked me on the head. I'm OK! Glad to be of help Jesse. It reminds me a little of Oswego, where the one armed wild man helps out. Maybe fuzz ball brings up a picture. He's full of spirit!

My best guess is the Joliet Park District did most of the clean up, perhaps a one Day deal & then back to their routine. They did a wonderful job! Thanks Vargo, or maybe Gary. I'll be out there Thursday to help, maybe a spotter to help cut the leaner on #1 would be helpful. Your doing a super good job Jesse & & I'm thrilled to be a part of your efforts.

I can help you Thursday Frankie!  I'm a little stir crazy right now.  :( And I'm still doing a walk through clean-up the day before tourney.
It's great to be alive!

Thanks Paco for busting your butt all day on Saturday! Gary did get in contact with the park district and they were out and done within a day. Considering the holes in the back were also done, it makes me think Mikey Vargo was part of that crew. They did a hell of a job!
I’ll also be there on Thursday working on the Belmont area. Call me when you get there and I’ll come down to help on hole 1.
Thanks Randy Sr. for taking the time to help out.
