Just for my own notes. Both Mike Flynn and Ryan Fancher are ok for Lower division.

They have the Homie marked as two one day A-tiers, but with a 54 hole minimum for A Tiers, I'm not sure how they're going to pull that one off.

PDGA / Re: PDGA Certified Officials Exam

Some higher tier events require everyone to pass the exam. It really is just a rules proficiency test.

Open book test. Since you just took it: Has it been updated for the 2013 rules changes or is the test still based on the 2011 rules?

The link in Jesse's first post should have Thor's events listed.

Unofficial results are from the TD uploading results via the tournament manager on the web. These are not used for official results.

Results do not go official until the TD has turned in the TD report (Excel spreadsheet) AND paid all of the necessary fees to the PDGA. Until that happens, results will not be official and will not show up in the stats of any player who played the event.

I'm not playing in the event, but I should be out there during the lunch break if anyone wants to talk to me about planning for next year.

Good show yesterday! Things ran smoothly even with a full field. Player packs were nice. Lunch on site is always a great bonus. Awards/prize distribution went quickly.

I have to admit, it was nice for a change to play an event without being involved in running one.

Thanks to all of the staff/volunteers that made it a great day.

That's great news, Frank.

Some have had issues clicking on the prereg link through illinoisopenseries.com, I know what the problem is, but cannot fix it until after IOS#51. Using this link solves the problem: http://krupicka.org/ios/preregister-ios-51

We've been having problems with the Discontinuum store. Preregistration has been moved to http://krupicka.org/ios/preregister-ios-51

The ace fund is only active during the normal rounds. Every player on a given day has the same number of chances to hit an ace. In this case 42. Even so, three of the final four holes are not reachable from the tee anyway.

We are hoping that the baskets will be repaired before the tournament. If not, we have enough Chainstars to put in place if needed for the tournament. Just means I will have a little more work to do setting up Saturday morning.

I mean 20 and 21. Hole 19 will be the same as past years where you need to throw out of the chute over OB to the practice(R1)/elevated(R2) basket.

I have updated the course map for the event (link on illinoisopenseries.com). A couple changes this year, 13A (short shot up the path) will not be used. But we are going to do two holes on the East side of the tracks. Hole 20 will a 500 ft. toss. Hole 21 will be shorter with a mando. Hole 20 may also have a mando. Still considering it to keep throws well away from the parking lot.

For this event only we are bringing back the final four. The top four players from the MPO division will have a four hole final round. These are special safari holes that we can't normally do. There will be a give away of a custom stamped iOS50! disc to a random spectator watching the final four compete. This giveaway is open to everyone, but the spectator winner must be present at the awards ceremony to claim their prize.

Safari holes are also posted on the course map. If you do practice these special holes, please be considerate of others playing the normal flow of the course.
