J-Town Ice Bowl / J-Town Ice Bowl 2010 Standing« on: March 19, 2010, 07:13:34 PM »
Not all the reports are in for the Ice Bowl but today we're in 10th place.
Dean, Thor, & Frank were there & everything went well. Choosing pictures & giving input for what's going to be published in the Herald News. Terri took us on a tour & I was quite impressed to the depth of their outreach. They screen who they help. They have a standard helping the truly needie. You can't be a drunken jerk who needs a place to sleep with a free meal.If one comes in with that status, they dry out with help from the police & go back to be interviewed. They help whole family's. They train people to be self sufficient. We did a good thing J-Town!!! 873
Thank You's / Keeping it Clean« on: March 18, 2010, 04:34:24 AM »
I didn't play Channahon for a week or so and was expecting a mess of litter. I only picked a couple of cans.
Johnnie B. said he was doing his share of picking up & I'm sure others have also. It's nice to see that! Way to go J-Town!!! 874

Leagues & Tourneys / Re: Doubles Moved to Channahon 03/14/10« on: March 13, 2010, 05:38:16 PM »
I passed on what Mick suggested. What are we going to do? It doesn't please me to see Channahon abused. Gary cringed when I told him about leagues. You can't get to #12's tee from 11's basket without walking back to #10's tee & walking on the pavement back over the bridge.
Look at it this way, it will make Gary Lewis happy that we don't make a bad situation worse. we'll have summer to play West Park. 876

Ryan,
You may find your post hilarious but do you really think it's appropriate on a message board? Don't you think that's more of an e-mail kind of thing? Thanks for offer to help at Highland. Frank 879

Courses / Concrete Tees for Highland« on: March 07, 2010, 06:14:47 PM »
As some already know there is buzz about concrete tees for Highland. Some of the obvious hurdles are money & labor.
I'm helping Darrin & Jessie put a game plan together. Some of the tees will be difficult to get to. With enough people we may do the difficult, not much is impossible, & certaintly not the hard to get tees at Highland, with enough help. Get a hold of Darrin & give your level of experience in concrete. Depending on the game plan we may need strong backs. We could get a concrete pump truck but that's not cheap. Lets see if we can get something going. 882

Leagues & Tourneys / Re: March 6th, 2010; PDGA C tier; Oswego, IL« on: March 02, 2010, 07:11:27 PM »So since so many things have changed about the layout, format and whatnot, here are a few more things to be aware of for this weekend:I wish I could make it but I'm still getting over the last three of months working on the J-Town charity. It's too bad more from FVM couldn't make it to J-Town's Fund Raiser. 884
J-Town Ice Bowl / Re: Thanks!!!« on: March 02, 2010, 02:49:08 PM »
Please accept my apologies.
Ray, Jason, Dean, & Sara plus your helpers. Y'all did a good job, especially being the first tournament. I know there was time effort put forth before the tournament that wasn't seen. You people were in the spotlight & get applause from me. Thanks!!! 885
J-Town Ice Bowl / Re: Thanks!!!« on: March 01, 2010, 07:34:45 PM »I had so much fun! I am glad that by having fun we could also help out others less fortunate. Thanks Frank, for letting me beat you...just kidding. I really enjoyed our rounds, and look forward to the next one. Congrats to the back-to-back ace-er!Although I can throw better, you're going to be tough to beat even when I'm throwing well. Thanks for coming out, along with John, Pat & Sam. I know it's a bit of a trip for you all. |
