West Park clean up day!
« on: August 13, 2012, 01:31:45 PM »
Sunday, August 19th, from 8am-12noon.

Please come out and help clean up West Park. Garbage bags and cooler with drinks will be available by the pavillion on hole 8. Any help you can provide would be much appreciated. We're just looking to bag up as much trash off the course as possible. With a good group, it shouldn't take very long to do. We've arranged to have the park district pick up all the garbage bags on Monday.

We'll also be mowing the green for the first temp hole, and putting in all the OB lines for the tournament on the 25th and 26th. So, come out and help us clean up, and then you can practice the gauntlet of OBs from holes 6 thru 11. OB lines, tee boxes, and basket locations will also be marked for the 3 temp holes.

We're still on for Sunday, 8am-12noon.

West Park could really use the clean up. And we'd like to make it look nice before The Wild West. I've had some positive response, and I hope to see a good turnout on Sunday. My thanks in advance to everyone.

I would like to thank the following people:

Aaron Studer
Ismael Ochoa
Jose Herrera
Diane Johnson

All of them showed up bright and early, and worked hard on the course. We found the course to be in good shape as far as trash goes. Not much in the fairways, but we picked up what there was. There were a lot of bottles and cans behind hole 8 that were removed, and a trash can moved over to 7's teepad to help alleviate the problem. A large limb was down on hole 3's fairway, with a lot of small branches sticking up into the air. We cleaned that up, removing all the small stuff, and leaving just the log. OB lines were run, and temp tee and pin placements were marked. Hole 8A's green was mowed.

It was a group effort, and I'd just like to thank Aaron, Ismael, Jose, and Diane again for their time and efforts.

We can only do so much. Each of use have many things going on in our lives. Wives, children, family activities, friends outside disc golf, household maintenance, some even have jobs. We're a family & we pick each other up.
