Wish I had the time and resources to run an event like this, but wanted to share in case someone wants to run one of these for us!

There was the ace run by discraft. In fact, Kev lost it on the last shot, last hole, to Chris B. I think I have that right. That was done in Oswego.

Yes, Frank, my friend, you do have that correct!!  That was the first time I played an ace race and it was an absolute blast!

And after Chris made the winning shot, I congratulated him on the win.  Now, before that time, I had never met him.  When I told him that he had beaten me on that last shot, he genuinely appeared to feel bad about it!  I told him no worries, but it made an impression on me that he's a nice guy and a class act!

After hearing about the other ace races in the area, I also get the impression that Oswego's is one of the better ones in the area!  I'll definitely do it again!

Rob, as far as the Vibram Birdie Bash goes I'd love to take part in one of those too!  I also miss the World's Biggest Disc Golf Weekend that Gary used to run too!!

Check out the link - they make it pretty easy to get one of these going. For TD equipment, you can talk to Jason and rent/deposit for the scoreboard, laptop, etc.

I would love to do this but I have NO KNOWLEDGE what so ever of running anything.

I guess if I do it might be a little half assed since Ive never ran anything before but sounds like a lot of fun

I'd like to join, but I'm new and typically shoot over par, sometimes hit par and the occasional birdie. Would I fit into a tournament like this?

Joe-

I would highly recommend participating!  These type of tournaments are designed with all players in mind. Also, this type of tourney is a little more laid back and a bunch of fun!

For sure! This is not a "sanctioned" event. If you are a PDGA member, in sanctioned events, the results are sent to the PDGA and they are added to your personal rating, which determines your overall skill level and that skill level is what you would have to compete in. For example, I am a novice because my overall skill level is under a rating of 850.

Anyway, this birdie bash has nothing to do with PDGA and it is literally just for fun - and a chance to play with cool people that aren't worrying about their PDGA rating either. So in a long winded response, this would be perfect for you to attend.

If you you have any more questions about anything at all, feel free to post or send an instant message - or you can ask any disc golfer.

Heck ya you should play!  Even if you have a rough go of it, you are getting 2 new discs and a shirt.  Plus, I'm sure a little fun thrown in there!
