WEEK 20 - August 22, 2012 Second Half #6 Community Park, Channahon
TEES 18 Holes - Par 54- Short Tees
CONDITIONS To start the round the temp was around 83 with clear skies and barely a breeze. It fell to around 75 by the end of the round. It was a perfect night for disc golf and the course was in great shape. The only scary thing was that the course is completely dry. All the water areas on the course are dried up. It makes you appreciate all the extra work Frank is doing to just keep up with watering his arboretum.

Dan Osysko gets a big second place victory to give him a 2-point lead for third place for the second half. Dan also jumps into a 3-way tie for second place overall. Please put Mike Kursell on the list of nominees. He has long been a part of the disc golf scene around Joliet. He does all my artwork, and never asks for anything in return. I know he has done artwork for J-town this year as well, and Thor, etc. We are lucky to have so many talented individuals passionate about disc golf, and Mike Kursell is certainly one of them.
Good catch. He is on my original list but not on the board. The updated list is below.

• Tom Matesevac wins again making it his 5th win out of six weeks to start the second half. That is definitely a record! He is on an uncatchable pace for the triple crown this year. WEEK 18 - August 8, 2012 Second Half #4 The Oaks -Mokena
TEES 18 Holes - The Ropes Design Par 54- Skipped holes 18-19 because of soccer and ultimate practice. Pro/Adv Played the OB Am/Nov Did Not Play the OB but just the course layout.
CONDITIONS It rained for about an hour right before we started. It was just enough to keep people away. It was calm and clear for the remainder of the night. The tee pads were slick on several of the holes making it even more challenging. The round started in the low 70s and it continured to drop into the high 60s by the end of the night.
• The Ropes design: Temptation, long holes, out of bounds, laying up and playing smart seem to describe this course the best. I think temptation will ultimately get the best of a lot of players and as always temptation might not be a good thing. It’s a great course and an extremly challenging layout. Don’t miss this rare opourtunity to play something so unique. I’m just glad I’ll only be spotting.
• Tom Matesevac is making a strong run at a triple crown this year. With another win this week he is opening a good lead in the second half and he now has a huge lead in the Overall points standing.
