Frank’s & Bean’s Tuesday Nights
(Handicap-Singles League)
•   Start date:  April 20, 2010, Follow the same schedule as the doubles league.  Same time and same place as the Wednesday Nights, but on Tuesday.
•   $5 entry fee, optional Ace ($1) & CTPs (2-$2/CTP) = $5, CTPs will be designated as Prize Fund & Club Enhancements.  The payout will be the top 30% with a minimum of $5 for last cash.  $0.50 from each entry fee will pay the hot round of the day.
•   Handling of non-rated players:  If you do not have a PDGA rating, your first 3 rounds at the handicap leagues will be free to establish your handicap.  You will only be allowed to participate in the Ace Fund, CTPs, and Bag Tags (Bag Tags will be determined on the scratch score).  Another option to acquire your handicap; if a club officer is willing to play those three rounds outside of league night. After you accumulate more rounds your rating will be taken from your best 3 of your last 5 rounds.
•   Frank Grimes and Dean Bingham will be running it.

Thank you everyone for making the first night of Frank's & Bean's a success.  Just so everyone is clear, the ratings and handicaps will change week to week with the new rounds.  Instead of having to wait a couple months for the PDGA ratings we will be calculating a J-Town rating (best 3 of your last 5 rounds).  Tag distribution is based on your scratch score.  If you don't have a rating you can still come out to establish your rating (You can play for free and not get in on the payout, yet you can still get in on the Ace and CTPs.)  To see results and points look under Events/Handicap Leagues at the top of the J-Town page.  Here's an update on what happened last Tuesday at Trinity Links.

Matt Coyne:  $11 Hot Round (for scratch score)
Steve Slater & Ryan Barcas split $45 with a tie for 1st
There was a 5-way tie for 3rd.
Jon Boster hit Hole #2 for an ace on his first hole.
Thor Bachelor won the Club Enhancement CTP on Hole #1.
Ray Hill won the Prize/Party CTP on Hole #4

See you next week at Channahon Community Park.

Points are awarded in the same maner as PDGA Points with a point factor of 1.  Players receive 1 point for every player they beat or tie (including themself).  Unrated players do not count for points, they can only play to establish a rating.

It's nice to see that other clubs are getting more singles based leagues going. Fox Valley starts their handicap league up this Thursday. So if you don't get enough on Tuesday or have to miss it to see the Dancing with the Stars, come out to Oswego on Thursday nights.

Thanks for the support Aaron and David!  Thank you, to the rest of the guys that have been coming out weekly!  I really have been enjoying the singles this year.  I think that some people are turned off by the handicap, but it is a good system.  In the end, just keep your game consistent and it will all work out.  If you stay consistent the points will come.  I just really like the singles aspect.  Just to make clear for others, bag tags are distributed based on the scratch score (not the handicap score).  For those that are not aware, there is an Event button at the top of the page with Handicap League Results.
