J-TOWN DOUBLES WEEK 1 RESULTS 2014

WEEK 1 - April 9, 2014
First Half #1
Shorewood Park-Shorewood

TEES
Short Tees 18 Holes - Par 54
Hole #11 is missing. A temp basket was put in it’s place for the night.

CONDITIONS
The night started out at around 61 degrees with clear skies. By the end of the round it dropped to around 57 degrees and clear. The winds were coming in from the SW at around 10-12 mph with gusts in the upper teens. The course was fairly dry considering the winter we had. There was some standing water by the parking lot and a few tacky mud spots. Overall it was a perfect night for the start of the spring/summer league.

NOTES
• It was great to see everyone again. We had many new faces that we hope will continue to show up each week. We also hope that the familar faces that weren’t there will make their way back and be part of this year’s league.
We miss you!

• Please don’t be discouraged if you’re an AM and had a rough first night. Shake it off and try again next week. The more you play and learn from the league’s more advanced players the better your game will evolve. We’ve all been through this stage. We’ll see you next week.

•The Taco Lady is back!

• Dana Vicich & Kevin Macuiba cruise to a easy victory in the Pro/Adv Division. Considering the wind conditions they shot a fantastic round of 39 (-15). They make the first big jumps on the leader board!

• Chad Ryan & Rico Lopez take care of business in the Am/Nov Division. They tied for first but outplayed their opponents in the playoff to seal the win. Rico & Chad end up shooting a great round of 42 (-12). They also make the first big jumps on the leader board!

• Hole #11 is missing! If anyone has any information let one of us know.

• A group of dedicated players will be working on Highland Park this morning. They can use all the help possible. Check out the link.

TEES

18 Holes - Par 54

CONDITIONS
Gale Force Winds all night! Well that’s what it seemed liked anyway. The winds where in the 30mph range and gusts where easily in the 40 mph range. Discs where flying in places they weren’t suppose to all night. The temps were in the low 50s but it felt like a winter night. The course is pretty much dried out but a real tough night for disc golf.

WEEK 3 - April 23, 2014
First Half #3
Trinity Links, Lockport, IL

TEES
18 Holes - Par 54-Short Tees
Skipped hole #15 because of flooding.  Instead we played a temp hole teeing from the south side of fence near the east building to the practice basket.

CONDITIONS
It was a chilly night with temps only in the low 50s. The wind was down but cold for this time of year. All water area levels were up. The course was pretty dry.

NOTES
• The Swamps of Trinity ate everything in sight including one player. One dazed player made a bad decision to wade in the cursed freezing swamp of holes 1 & 2. It did not end well with him being swallowed whole. He eventually made it out alive. Not a smart decision! There is a moral to the story but I’ll leave that to the imagination. The Murder Rakes got a workout!

• Thanks guys for letting us use the Trinity Links club house for registration. It was great not having to worry about the weather elements which makes a huge difference when getting things ready. Every course needs one.

• Dean Bingham & Ryan Gremillion destroy the course and take victory in the Pro/Adv Division. They shot an unreal round of 40 (-14)

• Steve Rachan & Joe Kolar easily take down the Am/Nov Division. They shot a nice round of 48 (-6) and jump up quickly in the point standings.
