Special Thanks
« on: February 16, 2012, 09:01:30 AM »
First and foremost I want to Thank Frank Grimes for relentlessly collecting donations for the morning star mission.  Frank you did one heck of a job and people don't get to see what you have to do to get donations so I want to acknowledge that and again tell you amazing job.  Also you did a great job running the raffle.  Second Dave K did an awesome job being the Tournament Director, managing 82 players is no easy task and you did an awesome job.  Jason Poole is the computer guy on the board and he had the scores up and posted on the PDGA site before most people left, very very few tournaments have what the J town tournaments have, and that is Jason Poole and is mad skills.   Dean B and Ray H did an awesome job being the support staff, helping with registration and checking score cards and a ton of other behind the scenes type of things.  Gary lewis did all the merchandise and that is a tough task trying to keep everyone happy and not getting ripped off by dishonest players.  dale D for doing the trophies, which turned out awesome, and Mike K who did the art work for the trophies and the sponsorship signs.  J town disc golf club did an awesome thing and with out all the players that showed up the Ice Bowl would not have turned out as great as it did.  So a big thanks to every player that showed up and supported the Morning Start Mission.  I want to thank the people from the mission that supplied the lunch and coffee and Terri and the man power to serve the players lunch.  good work everyone.

It was a great effort Thor, & your included. With the glow league you have going on, along with setting up tournaments, going to school with a pregnant wife, you managed to help also. Not to mention a full time job. You set us up with PDGA, with Ice Bowl HQ, set up the gmail account for Dave, got sponsors, & mended the broken fence with Mike Kursell. I'm sure you remember taking time with me to learn how to beg for money! I may need a pair of crutches to get a 100% return next year. I'm at attention saluting everyone!
As I've done before I need to add Jesse & Shawn in that salute. Jesse was huge in doing the sponsor flyer's the first week or so in Nov. 2011. With cracked ribs, Shawn was huge in spreading wood chips in key areas the week of the tournament. He also had cash sponsors.
From memory, our 1st year was $3,559, 2nd $5,700, & 3rd $8,212.
A team effort! Simply Awesome!!!
One Day at a Time!
Don't stop believin'
