Thank You's / Re: Handicap League

Thanks, Frank!  Just a little correction, though.  That was my second win, ever, in any division.  Both wins came in 2012.  The other was the first Trinity Links Series.

Thank you to the players!  If we didn't have continued success year after year, there would be no handicap league.  Just some stats:  2010 average of 12-15 players/week, 2011 16-18, 2012 22-25 with, I think, a record of 35 in one night.  These are just off-the-top-of-my-head, but I will consult with J. Poole to get some accurate statistics.  I'll try and put together some other stats for J-Town Fest 10/20/12.

I left a man behind.  It was my veteran.  Its an old school, clear, dark blue, Elite "Z" XS.  It has my name and PDGA #.  I unloaded the clip on #9 on the short course.  Just merely hoping, eight one five six five one seven three two seven.  Thanks.

I'm really looking forward to this challenge.  I want to rent a van or get some bigger vehicles to car pool up there.  Calling all J-Towners...third time is the charm!  Make a post or send me a message.  I have 2012 J-Town memberships (receive a "first run" J-Town mini with your 2012 bag tag).  I, also, have some "first run" J-Town merchandise for sale:  Hoodies(embroidered), zip hoodies(embroidered), beanies(embroidered), long sleeve(silk screen), dry-fit(silk screen), dry-fit Nike(collared, embroidered).  Get Some!  2012 is going to be a good one:)

Great Day for J-Town!  That was intense.  I would, also, like to thank everyone that made this happen:  Big Bangin' Frank, Terry & The Morning Star Mission, Dave Kociuba, jason poole, ray hill, gary lewis, mike kursell, dale delsasso, thor batchelor, scott coyne and brian sullivan for the warmth, all the big sponsors, the players(82, nice!), anyone who bought raffle tickets/the silent auction (that all went to the Mission), the travelers from Fox Valley, Rockford(this is all I can think of right now), Lauren Lakeberg for taking some pictures, Channahon Park District, and anyone I missed (you know who you are).Thank You!

Equipment / Re: J-Town Minis
« on: January 13, 2012, 09:15:05 PM »
Historic is a great way to put it...hence the reason why we want to allow OUR CLUB to have the mini for the time, money, and effort that they put in to make the club what it is.  Our members deserve it, even if it's free.  Our club won the minis through the Ice Bowl Tournament (the players, raffles, donations, etc.) and they were given to US.  Regardless of what any specific person wants to personally do with the minis is irrelevant.  The board ultimately makes the decision on what to do with the minis and everything that comes with it.  I personally feel that all the members will say "thank you" for the minis.  We don't need to sell them, we can make up that money elsewhere.  Maybe we could use the "J-Town Tag #420" raffle to raise money for the Morning Star Mission?  The last time I ran the raffle for that tag, we raised around $100.  Give our members the gratitude and respect they deserve.  Every person who plays in the tournament is donating money to the charity.  Frank is verbally/publicly thanked at EVERY tournament and consistently on the message board, which is well deserved.  What else is expected?  It's not necessarily bad to think with the end in mind...that's why the results are always posted, instead of the effort.  However, the effort is always recognized by the board and all the members of the club.  Frank has done a phenomenal job getting donations and raising money for the Morning Star Mission, and we all have congratulated him and thanked him for his time and effort.  It takes a very unique and special person to get donations and raise money...it is very hard and uncomfortable for some people to even attempt to do what Frank has done.  Those falling in the "getting donations is not for me" category donate their time and effort running events (Ice Bowl) and improving courses (Lockport, Highland, Channahon, etc).  We work as a team...we're all individuals and have specific characteristics that make us successful in different things.  When we bring these efforts and characteristics together, look at what we accomplish.  We don't need to complain about the small things that make the big picture amazing.  We're all doing a fantastic job and we all thank each other for it, whether it's publicly, on this message board, privately, or just with a smile and a nod.  We're a club...let's start acting like one.
