WEEK 22 - September 5, 2012
Second Half #8
Trinity Links, Lockport

TEES
18 Holes - Par 54 - Short Tees

CONDITIONS
To start the round the temp was around 85 with cloudy skies and wind from the West at around 13mph. It fell to around 75 by the end of the round and the winds diminished.  It was another perfect night for disc golf and the course was in great shape.

COMMENTS
•  If Tom Matesevac just shows up for the last three weeks of the season he will become the first Pro/Adv Triple Crown winners since 2006. Kris Hutter was the last player to accomplish this very tough task. Eric Fite still holds onto the second spot for the second half by one point. Al Hermosillo & Clayton Drake got a huge win this week. Clayton now jumps into a tie for third for the second half with Dan Osysko. Al jumps into sixth place and only two points out of fourth. He also sits in fourth place overall with only a half a point out of third and one point out of second.

• In the Am/Nov division we have a tighter race. Kevin Macuiba remains in first for the second half by only two-points over Kevin Yockman. Kevin got a  huge second place finish this week to close the gap and give him hope on his Triple Crown campaign. Jeff Reardon holds onto third by one point while Mario Guzman & Ken Hausser hold onto fourth by one-point for the second half. Brian Cantrell gets a huge first place finish this week and he jumps all the way up to sixth place and only one point out of the fourth and final trophy spot. In the Overall standings Kevin Yockman now opens up a 2.5-point lead over Kevin Macuiba. Jeff Reardon holds onto third while Tim Guajardo sits only one-point back after a third place finish this week. With Brian Cantrell’s win  this week he now sits only two-points out of the third and final overall trophy spot.

WEEK 21 - August 29, 2012
Second Half #7
Highland Park, Joliet

TEES
18 Holes - Par 54-
We played odd numbers red tees and even numbers white tees. This concept and flow worked well and by shortening some of the longer tees we were able to get the course in before dark.

CONDITIONS
To start the round the temp was around 83 with clear skies and barely a breeze. It fell to around 75 by the end of the round.  It was a perfect night for disc golf and the course was in great shape.

COMMENTS

WE ARE STARTING A 5:15 FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE YEAR.
•  With another win and only 4 weeks left Tom Matesevac has pretty much wrapped up the first triple crown title since 2006 ( Kris Hutter)  in the Pro/Adv Division.

• With Tom M. all but wrapping up first place early this half, the battle for second through fourth begins. Eric Fite holds onto the second spot by one point, while Dan Osysko holds onto third by one point. Randy McMurray gets a  huge second place finish last night and now jumps into fourth. Ryan Gremillion gets a big win last night and he catapults into fifth place. So now Ryan and Clayton are only one point out of fourth and only three out of second.
In the overall battle for second and third it still remains a tie between Darrin Johnson and Dan Osysko. Dave Kociuba and Steve Forneris remain close while Randy McMurray and Ryan Gremillion make big jumps this week to make things interesting.

• In the Am/Nov division we have a tighter race. Kevin Macuiba gets a huge win this week and now has a four-point lead for the second half. Kevin Yockman remains in second by a point over Jeff Reardon. Mario Guzman now stands a lone in fourth by a point. We also have around ten players all with in striking distance of the top four. It should be an interesting battle four last four weeks.
In the overall battle Kevin Yockman remains on top but his lead was cut in half when Kevin Macuiba won last night. Yockman now only has a 1.5 point lead with four weeks still left. Jeff Reardon holds onto third with Kester Jeffers and Tim Guajardo only 1.5 points out.

In addition to other things he has done this year, Steve Slater was one of the first people to step up and help me at my last tournament when my team left me high and dry. That was a big help.

That's awesome! Thanks for the info.

Are you looking for comments on the listed people?  All have contributed. I'm not sure, but I think Tom Matesevac & Dan O. contributed a great deal this last year. Without waiting for your answer I'm commenting the top & bottom of the list, Thor & Jason. I remember Thor last fall doing tournaments the end of last year. He's been huge at  Lockport with the help of many. He also helped me with getting the travel baskets, for the raffle for  the Ice Bowl. I know he has a lot on his plate, so a lot has been a sacrifice.
I'm a lot closer to what Jason Poole contributes, mainly because of the club, I'm on the board with him. First, he's the staple! He has ideas & plans & executes! He's a big deal with local tournaments with his computer work. Jason is always there, in the grass, helping!!!

Frank you can comment on anyone you like. Also with the new nominees I would like some information on their accomplishments this year.

Woh...Mr. Frank Grimes isn't on the list!

Please add Frank - not only does he put his time, money, and sweat into beautiful Channy, he is a fantastic person all around. He is battling cancer but still does what he does. He makes an effort to befriend new people and make them feel extremely welcome. If it wouldn't have been for Frank's outward show of support, I don't think I would have had near as much motivation to continue to improve and keep playing the singles league.

Frank, you have my vote, sir!

You have to wait 5-years before winning the award again. Frank won in 2010 which was the first year it was actually given out. We want to spread the award around for the first five-years to the many people in our area that are deserving of it.

The new updated list is below.
The additions are Tom Matesevac, Dan Osysko & Steve Slater. They have all put their blood, sweat and tears into the transformation of Trinity Links. They have all helped on other local courses with improvements and they have all have had vital rolls in many local tournaments.
