Would you play a tournament on Fathers Day?
« on: January 27, 2012, 07:46:04 AM »
Chain Reaction has been bumped from it's preferred spot, and I'm looking at spots to put it in. The best spot appears to be June 16 & 17th.......except that Fathers Day is on the 17th.

So, I'd like to hear from everyone.....would you play a tournament on Fathers Day?

If we do this, we'll come up with some ideas to make it special for Fathers Day.

Unless something changes, the tournament will be held at Channahon.

Channahon is a great place to have a tournament. I wouldn't play, my kids do something for me that day. I think I did some years ago.

Mothers Day is more of a negative than Fathers Day. Being at Channahon,I'll come out in the morning.

Patrick - I agree, mother's day is a MUST avoid date while Father's day is far less of a problem.  Some guys play *because* it's Father's day, and I think the amount of players that you lose is negligible.  I ran that weekend in 2009 at West Park.  There were 47 players, the Novice division was really small that weekend, not sure why.  Novice was still a pretty new division though.  I had 60-some the day before.  Since Channahon is a better venue, you'd probably get the better turnout.

You know what Patrick? I was going to open hole #11 late spring. Maybe we could open it for the tournament?

Scott,

Thank you for the info. I appreciate it!

Frank,

That would be great. The grass is looking good on the hill. I'm sure people would be stoked to play it for the first time.
