I have also used these on a mid range disc and it makes it super flippy. they are a little expensive but they are pretty bright. if you are playing just casual rounds I would say go for it if you can spare the disc like Fierke said. I don't allow those lights in the glo league because they are not a pdga sanctioned disc and you wouldn't be able to use those in an XC tier glo event. I also have found that if you hit a tree pretty hard with them you are now out that money because they are not very durable. I put them on a leapord and it became super super super flippy. I was throwing rollers with it. if you are looking for a great durable LED light you should check out the Flight R. that is what I have been using and I play glo all the time and have found these to be the best. They are also water proof which you don't get with the hole in one lights. that is just my opinion though and every disc golfer likes something different anyways...

this was also included in an email I got from the PDGA about ratings... and to answer the question of they don't drop rounds.. they do but 1 out of every 50 or so
All rated rounds you have played and have been reported to the PDGA within 12 months of your most recently rated round will be included in the calculation. However, if any one of those ratings is either more than 100 points below your average rating or more than 2.5 standard deviations below your rating – whichever number is smaller – that round will not be included. That works out to about 1 in 50 rounds getting dropped. Rounds where you DNF (Do Not Finish) are never counted in your rating. The most recent 25% of your rounds get double weighted which slightly boosts your rating if you have been steadily improving. If a player has fewer than 8 rounds in the past 12 months, since their most recent round, then we’ll go back up to another 12 months until we find up to 8 rounds but never go back any farther than a total of 24 months.
if you can make sense of that... but again I am not trying to argue and I was also informed by a man sitting next to me who has been running touranemnts for 20 years to not defend my decision but make sure I learn from it... which I already have... thanks again for your input because it forces me to really research the rules and learn from my mistakes
Generally what you said would be correct but because he just signed up for the PDGA and that was his first tournament as a PDGA member he can play what ever division he wishes. You are right the TD should monitor that and I did, I asked the question and the response I put down was the answer I got. I am not gonna defend that answer because every time you ask a question you tend to get a different answer, but that is what I was told and that is why I let him play that division. now that he is a full member though he will be required to play in the division his rating has him at. during the round I looked up every player and if they are current or not and he was the only one out of his division with his rating. But I asked the guy at the PDGA number on Friday and that was the answer I got. It was the first time this situation ever presented itself at a tournament I ran and I just went with the answer I was given. I am not trying to sound offense if this seems like I am arguing and that could have been 100% the wrong decision but I didn't know what else to do besides ask. I will absolutely keep this in the back of my head in the future and make sure I ask several different people the correct way to play it out. It was a local tournament thrown together at the last minute for some last chance points and I believe that was James 3rd tournament ever and the first as a PDGA member.. unless the Joliet Championships counts when he signed up and played rec with a 900 plus players rating. I guess I just followed suit but I did ask and it did not go unnoticed. I appreciate your input though, you have been around a lot longer then me and am always looking to do things right. Thanks
Frank I agree that it seems like a lot more paper work but I have been told the fee is only going to be 50 cents more per league you play. again I don't know much details I was just trying to find out some more info.. maybe I will do it for a glo league
So over the weekend I was talking with the one and only Dana Vicich and he told me about a new PDGA sanctioned league that you can get points for. This would be something cool to have at summer leagues for the handicap or doubles. Not sure how it works, does anyone have anymore info on the PDGA Sanctioning Leagues
That was James LoPresti's third PDGA tournament ever and the rating system does not hold true until you have finished four full tournaments. dropping the lowest rated round and highest rated round. The next tournament he will be playing Intermediate if his rating holds up. Also until the official results are in and updated since rec and Intermediate played two rounds from the shorts the ratings will be a little obscured. According to the PDGA guidelines everyone played in the correct division or I would have heard about it from Marcy the Hammer at the PDGA office.

CTP hole #1 went to Eric Fite AKA FatBoy CTP hole #14 went to Clayton Drake

Hello everyone On December 10th 2011 the Snow Blown II will be held at Trinity Links Disc Golf Course. The tournament will be two rounds and all the info is below

Hello So a few people have been asking about a glo league and I thought this was a pretty cool idea. I am gonna start a glo league at Trinity Links Disc Golf Course in Lockport Il. I am gonna have ctp's and an ace fund as well. I figured $10 to be all in, keep it cheap and still let everyone get in on the ctp's and ace fund ( all for $10). I don't yet have LED lights back, I did order them but they have not come in yet. I am hoping they come by wed but I doubt it. It will be random draw doubles and depending on the turn out I might have two divisions but as of right now I am thinking only one division. I will also be doing a few optional CTP's to raise money for the Ice Bowl and basket funds. if you have any questions please let me know and I hope to see a bunch of you guys and gals out on wed. this wed is the first league that is the 30th of november. start time at 5:30 so get there early to warm up thanks Thor I also have some glo plastic left over from the glo tourney if anyone is interested..
