J-Town Ice Bowl / Re: Ice Bowl Sponsors
« on: February 02, 2010, 08:58:08 AM »
Hello J-Town,
Tonight there is a FVMDGC players meeting starting at 7:30 at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Oswego on Douglas Road. Everyone is invited to attend just like all our players meetings. This meeting is extra special because BWW is kicking back 15% of our total bill to the Hesed House for the Ice Bowl.  We will discuss the Ice Bowl and any other concerns anyone has at this meeting. We hope some of you can support this by attending. I know, sorry for short notice. February 13Th at Jericho Lake is the 4Th annual Jericho Lake Ice Bowl. It would be great if both clubs can support each other in both of our Ice Bowls by attending. The cause is great and I think it's awesome what you guys are doing!         More and more people are having to decide wether to pay rent or to eat. In Cook County, the number of people relying on hand outs jumped one third since 2006. In Wheaton, where you don't see homeless people, the food pantry there has seen an increase in clients by 34 percent since 2008. These are middle class people being squeezed to death by lost jobs or increasing costs and declining wages. Ice Bowls do make a difference!     Gotta go,  keep up the good work, the club is rockin!  Your sponsor list is unreal! Hope to see some J-Town faces tonight!
                                    Thanks and God Bless all!
                                                  Sr.

Hey all, it is once again approaching fast, the Jericho Lake Ice Bowl! In it's fourth year, we are looking to surpass everything we have done in the past from sponsorship, to money donated, to player joining in on the fun. Come be a part of it all!

Pretty much everything will remain the same as the other years, with the exception that mulligans will once again be for sale all day long.
With over 60 sponsors, the goodies just for coming out to play are going to be there for the picking! Come and get some!!!

Everyone will recieve an Ice Bowl mini in their players pack along with some Jel-Sert items as well.
There will be, as always, free hot lunch served as well as a putting contest and multiple CTPs throughout the day.
Also available will be raffle tickets available for $1 that will get you chance to win some of the bigger ticket items such as a laser autographed Bears football, and a cubs jersey, just to name a few.
Mulligans will be on sale for $2 each or 3 for $5 ALL DAY LONG.
So make sure you put this date on your calendar! You don't wanna miss this one!
For the first 25 people to preregister (http://www.paperorplasticsports.com/),  your name will be entered into a drawing for an autograph from ADAM BURISH of the Chicago Blackhawks along with a set of hand warmers. Get yourself preregistered!

For some more specifics on both registration prices, times, etc. check outhttp://foxvalleymetrodiscgolfclub.com/new/event-icebowl-2010 and http://foxvalleymetrodiscgolfclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=1403.0.

Hope to see a lot of faces there!

It's great to see J-Town on the Ice Bowl list!

Can you do something so when you click on a name it references that to PDGA?
Tag challenge scores as an example.
Tag challenge scores have been updated to include links to PDGA member stats.
That's good stuff. Ask and you shall recieve. Good work again!

Some things that help bring in a donation.
When getting Sponsors, the Sponsors of our communities would like to know:

The history of the Ice Bowl and Morning Star.
That last year 190 Ice Bowls across the world took in over $224,000 and over 55,500 lbs of food.
They who donate (Organization or individual), will be put up on a hole and thanked in the local paper.
That this is a community event and everyone is invited.
What we will do with their donation.
