awesome! So glad i found this site a few days ago and decided to join. im from more up north IL in streamwood and I just started getting more into disc golf and I have no idea of any clubs or anything here but I was told about jtown disc golf. Dont really know anyone up here that plays. This looks like a cool event. So you have to bring your own partner and its $90 for a team for am-novice?  also I just saw they have something goin on november 4th at pine hills as well. is that part of this or no? Thanks for any info

Saturday is bring your own partner doubles and Sunday is a PDGA C-tier singles.

90 a team for all Am divisions- $10 per player goes to Pine Hills for carts/course fees.  The rest goes into the payout which will be discs (Innova and Vibram) and Pine Hills gear (shirts, hats, etc)

Like most things, it's about the money. The higher the tier more is paid out. A B tier is $500.00 minimum & I think a $15.00 players pack. C tier no players pack is required. A non sanctioned tournament the payouts are at the TD's discretion. Nothing is paid to the PDGA, or documented with them, like player rating.I'm not sure about the #'s but that's the general idea.

Frank pretty much nailed it.  In PDGA sanctioned events, there are Majors, National Tours, A tiers, B tiers and C tiers.  Generally a C tier is pretty cut and dry tournament, with not a lot of extra added things.  Thats not to say a C tier can't have a player pack or added cash.

There is a $10 non member fee if you are not a PDGA member to play in sanctioned events.  So if you want to play in the singles on Sunday, you should think about joining- www.pdga.com

For the doubles, it is non PDGA sanctioned so no worries or extra charge for being a non member.

Thanks on the info. I just recently renewed my membership just waiting on everything. Not sure how long they take on putting me back on hopefully before the event.

I'd like to add, the PDGA membership sign up now would be good through 2013.

Good call, Frank!

The round at Pine Hills will be strictly BEST SHOT for all non Pro/ADV teams!  The round at Marilla will still be 6 holes best shot, 6 holes alt shot and 6 holes total score!
