You should come out to the doubles league on Wednesdays or the J-Town Disc Golf Club hosts a handicap league on Tuesdays. These leagues will better your game at a lower stress level then a tournament. You’ll meet a ton of great players but even better people.

Here’s the links to the schedules

Questions? / Re: Am I At A Loss Being Competetive?

Ultimately most of us have the same problem but yours is just a little more unique. We try to develop different shots to solve the problem. Have you tried a forearm with your left hand? What about a beginner friendly disc that is under stable, which might help you turn it over to the left like a Discraft Nuke SS?

COMMENTS
To our experienced Am's that pair up with a beginner. Your guidance to these players are a major part of the future success of the league. Please be a mentor to  these new players and make sure when they leave they feel like they had the coolest time and want to come back. It's great to win but if feels a whole lot better knowing you helped make a difference in someones game. You just might be helping the next great player in our area.

Please don't be discouraged if you're an AM and had a rough night. Shake it off and try again next week. The more you play and learn from the league's more experienced players the better your game will evolve. We've all been through this stage.

WEEK 4 - April 25, 2012
First Half #4
Community Park - Channahon

TEES
22 Holes - Short Tees - Par 66
Added Holes A-D after hole #18

CONDITIONS
Low 70s to start the round- High 50s at the end of the round. Winds were strong throughout the night. The course is in Unbelievable shape. A perfect night for league. The storms never showed up.

COMMENTS
Frank Grimes has turned Community Park into  a botanical garden. We all know the amazing hard physical work Paco has put into making this course look and play great. But it’s his attention to detail that puts this course into that completely amazing category. You know you have a special disc golf course when the course caretaker is fertilizing and putting down dandelion killer.

The Non Stop Disc Golf crew were in town to give a clinic and share their knowledge to the local disc golf scene. It seemed like it went very well with a least 40 players participating in the clinic. The crew of Catrina Allen, David Feldberg, Cale Leiviska, Paul Ulibarri, and Will Schusterick all ended up staying and playing in the league. It was exciting and an honor to have these players come out.
Thanks to all our local guys who were involved in making this happen.

With the extra players from the clinic the league sign-up turned into a feeding frenzy.  We tried to let as many players sign up as we possibly could, but it’s tough with the shorten daylight. We had no choice but to cut off the field. As the year goes on we can add more holes and let more players enter the field. We are sorry if you were turned away

Again last night we had many new faces that we hope will continue to show up each week. We also hope that the familiar faces that weren’t there will make their way back and be part of this year’s league. We know you’re listening so get out here. We miss you!
Please don’t be discouraged if you’re an AM and had a rough night. Shake it off and try again next week. The more you play and learn from the league’s more experienced players the better your game will evolve. We’ve all been through this stage.

The Taco Lady is back! Juanita & Scott will be selling tacos for a $1.50 at league for most of the rest of the year.

Next week is Highland Park so to guarantee a spot  try and get there when we open registration at around 4:15 - 4:30pm.
WE START AT 5:30 NEXT WEEK.

PLAYERS
93 Players
54 PRO/ADV   39 AM/NOV

TOP THREE
PRO/ADV

Jimmy McDonald & Chris Brenholtz put an old fashion whipping on the Pro/Adv field shooting an amazing round of 46 (-20). They win by two strokes and split a sweet pot of 153 bucks. Jimmy Mac also aced hole #7 which was also the basket fund ctp. With the extremely strong and very large field this will go down as one of the best rounds in our doubles league history. Nice shooting guys! Leo Borowski & Cale Leiviska end up in second place alone shooting an amazing round of 48 (-18). They end up taking home $52.50 each. This was another very strong round. Will Schusterick & Mike Sale end up taking the third place honors with a great round of 49 (-17). They end up splitting 76 bucks.

TOP THREE
AM/NOV

Kester Jeffers & Kevin Won shoot an extremely impressive round of 54(-12) to win the top honors out right. They immediately jump up in the point totals and split $70. Mike Chinderle & James LoPresti take the second place honors with a very nice round of 55 (-11) They end up splitting 41 bucks. We had a three way tie for third with teams shooting nice rounds of 56 (-10). Joe Heinen & Kevin Yockman win the ctp playoff on hole #1 to take third place honors. They end up splitting 32 bucks.
It’s definitely shaping up to be an extremely competitive Am/Nov field this year.

LOW 70s to start the round- MID 60s at the end of the round. Winds were strong throughout the night. The course is in great shape. A perfect night for league.

COMMENTS
Trinity Links has come a long way these last couple of years. A huge THANK YOU goes out to all the guys who’ve busted their ass working on this course. There’s been a  lot of blood, sweat, tears and heart put into making this course great. I’m just glad to say it’s one of our home courses.
The Murder rake got a work out last night with a least 10 discs going in the water on holes #1 & #15. Thanks Thor for letting us use the Trinity Links club house for registration. It was great not having to worry about the weather elements which makes a huge difference when getting things ready. Every course needs one.

Again last night we had many new faces that we hope will continue to show up each week. We also hope that the familiar faces that weren’t there will make their way back and be part of this year’s league. We know you’re listening so get out here. We miss you!
