Saved by Frank and Ellen!
« on: May 05, 2011, 02:14:20 PM »
A HUGE thank you goes out to Frank Grimes and Ellen Macuiba (of the Channahon Park District) for their help saving my Shot Down in Flames tournament. My permit at Shorewood was denied today.....two days before the tournament.

When I called Frank to ask if I could move it to Channahon, he didn't hesitate. I know this creates some extra work for you Frank, and you were probably switching gears in your head as I was asking you for the favor. Yet, you didn't hesitate to save my butt. A heaping helping of gratitude from me Frank. I owe you. I told Ellen, and I'll tell you when I see you......I'd like to pay back the favor. If you need something for the course, please let me know. It could be a new basket, or something as simple as some dirt and cement. Whatever it is, there will come a time you want to do something and no one will provide the funds. Please come see me and let me repay this favor.

And when I spoke to Ellen, she was a total class act. Had me set up within a few minutes with a pavillion on the hill. So again, a HUGE thanks from me for helping me out and making this tournament possible. I really do appreciate it and I'm sure all the players do to.

Thanks Patrick!  With our club & doubles & up & coming handicap, it's about synergy. A simple definition is working together of two or more people. In my past posts I've reflected to that. One thing I recall is I love you guys. Believe me, I'm not looking for a bed partner! We all have something to contribute, all!
Even the most stupid person knows something I don't. I'm thinking of the spirit we had for the Ice Bowl, 20" of snow. blizzard conditions, & the help that came our to clear the tees. It makes me teary eyed!
You don't owe me, It's about us & I'm glad to be helpfull!

Frank,

I'd like to provide a replacement basket for Channahon. I'm thinking that 6 could use a new basket, but you're welcome to use it wherever you like. Another option would be to use it for 11 (so you can keep the temp basket in the ground while you work on it.) and then put the temp from 11 in place of 6.

I plan to get this basket by the end of the month. It'll be a Discraft Chainstar.

Thanks Patrick, but we have a mach 3 for hole 6. I've wanted to upgrade the basket area for 6 for sometime. I need permission to elevate the basket & dig an area similar to #2 in front of the basket. When that's approved I'll put the mach 3 there. If you insist to do something I have some other  ideas. Actually you have no debt to me. I try to help out where I can. I'm glad things worked out.
