Channahon No sod #11
« on: September 01, 2010, 08:26:17 PM »
As much as I'd like to see sod on #11, I'm going to pass & seed it. I'm running at about 75 maybe 80%. There are other things other than disc golf I'm tied up with. I'm not getting support from the park, & I wanted them to pick up the sod.
It's going to cost somewhere in the $450.00 range without delivery. I'm getting three loads of dirt, one for long 14's tee, the other two for #14. With other things going on I don't have any reserve. I can't open the can of Whoop Ass! If I can't soon, I'm going to eat the whole damn can!

Thanks for the volunteers,

Joe Witzl

Yes Mr. Elf I believe your right. You have been around much longer then us. Let's share your history with everyone lol lol lol:
In early modern and modern folklore, Elves become associated with the fairies of the 19-century Romantic portrayal of English folklore and assume a diminutive size, often living underground in hills or rocks, or in wells and springs. 19th-century Romanticism attempted to restore them to full stature, often depicting them as very young, probably adolescent (lack of facial hair on male elves), men and women of great beauty. From their depiction in Romanticism, elves entered the 20th-century high fantasy genre in the wake of the publications of J. R. R. Tolkien, especially the posthumous publication of his Silmarillion where Tolkien's treatment of the relation of light elves, dark elves, black elves and dwarves in Norse mythology is made explicit. The elf is now-and has been for years-associated with Christmas acting as "Santa's little helpers."

I'm learning more and more about you Mr.Elf. Very interesting. lol
