The first 50 players to pre-register will get an Aces and Chains T-shirt and a poster. Everyone else will get a $7 gift card and the poster.

Shirt sizes are limited, so pre-reg early for best selection.

Hi Patrick-
Are you planning to have spotters for
the tournament?  That rough is BRUTAL!
Just curious so I can plan accordingly!

Thanks!

From the pictures, I think "brutal" is used too lightly...I'm scared.

From when I last talked to Patrick before his vacation they were not going to be out to service the course until some time this week. He knew the conditions were rough then and he has made the park district aware. Not sure when they will be out to service the course, but hopefully they will get to it soon.

I spoke to a few more people at the park district today trying to get the fairways mowed wider. They couldn't give me any guarantees, but I'm supposed to hear back from them tomorrow, and hopefully, I'll have some news for all of you. It is a great course, though very tough. Obviously, it doesn't need the tall grass to make it harder, nor is that an acceptable obstacle, as it just leads to lost discs. I explained this to the park district, and I think they understood. All I can do is keep following up with them.

I'm really hoping they get it done. This could be a great tournament and a great up and coming course. And everyone I've talked to at the park district is quality people who really want the course to blossom into a championship level course. They have plans for new tee boxes, and pro tees among other things. So I'm hoping for the best.

That's good to hear!  It does seem that it has potential to be a very good course, and it looks like it'll be a lot of fun to play on Saturday.  So, I guess I'll have to give it a second chance to make a good first impression!!

(and bring a few extra discs!) ;)

I get it now! This is Patrick's money making scheme! Tournament at a course that guarentees lost discs while ensuring he has plenty to sale! Brilliant!  ;D

Just kidding man. Although, you probably should have plenty to sale between rounds if the district doesn't mow.

Spotters wanted!
« Reply #8 on: July 17, 2013, 02:32:15 PM »
I'm putting the call out for spotters for Saturday's tournament at West Main Park in Batavia. The park district is unable to mow the fairways wider in time for the tournament, and spotters would be a big help. All spotters will receive a free Aces and Chains t-shirt, and plenty of water. And if you need anything else, please let me know. If you are willing to spot for the tournament, please comment on this post. Thanks!

Funny post above. Not my intent, but it is a good point. I will bring not just tournament discs, but some of the used discs as well to help players get thru the day. If we get some spotters, it will help alleviate the amount of lost discs. And I'd like to put this out there: Every player that loses a disc will get a free one from the used bin. I can't replace every lost disc for you, but I'll replace the first one.

That is a very a great gesture and it's much appreciated! I'll be playing Saturday, so I will be spotting for myself and people on my card...can I get an AC shirt?  :P

Just heard from JD that hole one is going to have a temp basket instead because of how bad the fairway is.

Yeah, we're going to put a temp hole between 16 & 17. Much better...fun little hole. See you all there.

Extremely technical course...was a challenge all day (by challenge, I mean I was cursing every throw). Tournament was still a success and the trophies are awesome! Thanks Patrick!
