Allowing ribbons on your discs at J-Town Ice Bowl
« on: February 01, 2011, 06:46:39 PM »
I contacted the PDGA, and they are allowing the players to use ribbons on their discs to make it easier to find them in the snow.  This is just for the J-Town Ice Bowl.

Good, I was just going to ask if this would be allowed. With the way these drifts are looking already we are going to need them.

Colored string works best.
It's great to be alive!

Leo B. Old School, Secure Ribbons
« Reply #3 on: February 02, 2011, 08:42:21 PM »
I was talking to Leo today, we were both stuck in traffic so there wasn't much to do except talk. I asked what would be the best way to secure ribbons for the Ice Bowl.
First your disc need to be room temperature. VERY IMPORTANT!
Cut Christmas ribbon about 1/4" 21/2 - 3' long.
Leo suggested cheap duct tape. He said it holds better.
Secure the duct tape to the ribbon & press to the disc as close to center as possible.
Help seal the adhesive to the disc with a hair dryer.
If there is adhesive left on the disc it can easily be remover with mineral spirits.
Thanks Leo, it's great to have friends
