The rough plan is to cut some of the downed trees into stumps, then bury (or sink really) the stumps halfway to create a walk way free of mud. With the current forecast we are hoping Thursday and/or Friday will be dry enough.
We, Shawn McCarthy & myself, are starting with the log cutting Wed. 04/09, 9:00am if you want to help out.

I'm working with Thor & Shawn McCarthy, with some sort of steps on #18's fairway. Right now it's the beginning of getting organized. What I have is the saw (love tools) & the will to help out. From what Thor said, it it would be similar to something at Lemon.?  I'm not sure about the weather, but it may start some time next week. Shawn, in so many words, says git er dun! We're looking for help. I don't do Facebook, but they do.

First Flight, the first A-Tier that has ever been held in the Joliet area, was a success! We had a great time all weekend, culminating in a great show put on by the top 4 advanced players in the “Final 9” holes at Round Barn Farm. Thank you to everyone who came out to play, everyone who went to flymart, the players party, and who came out to watch the Final 9!

I have a lot of people to thank.

First and foremost, I can’t say enough good things about my TD’s. Aaron Studer, Kevin Schramm, Paul Kenny, and Mike Kursell all did an outstanding job, and went above and beyond the call to make this tournament a success. Without them, this tournament would never have been possible. Please shake their hand and share your positive thoughts with them when you see them. They worked hard all weekend!
I’d also like to thank Frank Grimes and Shawn McCarthy for their course maintenance work at Channahon. My apologies to Frank for sending 144 players through the course at this early date. As I mentioned on Facebook, I will not be giving that early of a date to the PDGA as an option next year, even if it’s the third option.
And hey, thanks to Terry Miller, the DG Guy for coming out to video tape the tournament! Terry’s a great guy. I saw him helping vendors at the flymart, in addition to his videotaping duties. Check out his footage of the tournament on his You tube blog. First day’s highlights can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIXx2gouBUQ&list=UU_VFGL2488ElJvThosFxaRQ
Below is the complete list of people who helped out at the tournament. My sincere thanks to each and every one of you. It’s great to be part of such a helpful community of disc golfers! Hopefully, I don’t forget anyone!

TD’s: Aaron Studer, Kevin Schramm, Paul Kenny, & Mike Kursell
Artist and creative assistance: Mike Kursell
Course Maintenance: Frank Grimes and Shawn McCarthy

Videographers: DG Guy Terry Miller & Ryan Fancher
T-Shirts: Ryan Fancher
Spotter: Cory Hill of Soul Flight Disc Golf
Banners: Mike Eichorst & Eric Fite
Scorecards and leaderboard help: Ryan Fancher, Daniel Czempinski & Ryan Barcas
Sponsor Tee signs: Jeremiah Bly, Mike Eichorst, and Ismael Ochoa
Doubles tournament: Lars of LSDiscs
Getting Sponsors: Larry Pennuto
Carrying the Final 9 leaderboard: Jeremiah Bly
Assistance during Final 9: Jose Herrera
Clean up aftward: Blaine & Christie Schepp

Lastly, I’d like to thank Kyle Chapman, Zack Zandstra, Alex Nimtz, and Jason LeQuesne for putting on a great show during the Final 9.

Thanks again to everyone. Let’s keep this positive vibe going all summer!
Your welcome but I think the Park will recover . The weather wasn't the best, but it seemed to go well. You did a nice job Patrick!

I can't say enough about the help Shawn McCarthy gives me. This is NOT the time of year for course upgrades. We spread chips in some key areas for the tournament this week end. Although the water is down, it will take little to have a traffic pattern of mud. So sad for Channahon. Play well people!

Anyone know if Channahon is playable. I don't feel like driving out there and finding out that there is water everywhere.  If anyone has played it in the last couple of days could let me know, that would be great.  Thanks
One hole #6, the down hill one, was in question Thursday. It could be played then, so after 3 days, I don't think it will be a problem. Hole #10 has water in front of the tee, but not an issue. You can walk on the left side to stay out of the water.

"I can help with Channahon. Spot where needed & the 10 meter circles. I just need the paint & help. I'm going to the gym, trying to get back in shape, but some simple things are difficult, like breathing on the treadmill. Weights on a machine are not an issue, & riding a bike isn't a problem. So, maybe my hero, Shawn McCarthy, or others will give me a hand with that task."

Thanks Frank! I know I can always count on you to help at Channahon.

Anyone want to give Frank a hand with the circles the week before the tournament?

I would not miss out on a chance to hang with Frank   :D. I'm in!
That's GREAT Shawn!!! I'll be in touch.

Lost & Found / Re: Found on 14

I found an orange Innova driver on hole 14 during the second round at the Ice Bowl. Not sure what driver it is, looks like it's marked "BB". Let me know if it is yours, describe the stamp to me. Only the initials TM on the rim.

A disc was turned in at the Ice Bowl that wasn't claimed. I think baash was written on it. I looked briefly tonight but didn't see it. The good news is, it's near the top. Anyone that has looked in my car knows what I mean.

Aaron Studer, runs bag tags, has been collecting ctp's for a year, Mick & Mike, winter doubles have also been collecting. A huge thanks you guys!!! It's Awesome that we give back to our community.
I can't say enough about the support to our fundraiser, it's huge!!! If you think about it, 14" of snow on the ground & snowing, 15 degree high temp. $905.00 in raffle revenue with players & a team filled with spirit. What we have so far is over $7,000 & I still have promises still not in. A big part of the funds was tags, & Aaron Studer, $650.00! That's a big deal donation!!! Way to go Aaron & the bag tag faithful's. It was nice to see the group of guys that played tags. I think it was about Aaron. He did a nice job! It's not a record, but $7,000.00 plus, to help our community, is beneficial. This time of year, with Thanksgiving & Christmas over, it makes for a lean time for them.
