Absolutely UNPLAYABLE. Where it's not frozen I was sinking in 2" and sliding around. NO CARTS. On the way out I stopped at the retention pond and cleaned off my boots and pants. Saturday will be a day of attrition.
Still have 4 days to dry up . Mother Nature be nice!
Get ready. It will not dry. Years of MTBing have taught me what to expect. It would need to be 90 and all sun from now till the event to dry that place out, and that might not even do it. What is now frozen might melt and get as soft as the rest. Cleats wouldn't even help. Pretty much stand and deliver anywhere but the pads. My solo round took 3 1/2 hours. IO'm ditching my cart and bringing a walking staff. Some of those trails are treacherous. I'll get a pic up as soon as my phone recharges.

can anyone do a weather /course condition check for Mokena ?
thank you
I hope to get out sometime this week. I'll relay conditions if I do. I haven't been there in years, but I do recall thinking the place should've been closed for the Spring thaw. I especially remember sinking every step about 3" on the green of #5. Shouldn't be that bad, but if the forecast holds it should be a slop-fest.
My ESP XL was found. Thanks, I hope to get it back soon. If that one was found, then I'm pretty darn sure my Xmas X Buzzz was found as well. It has my name and number and an ace on the bottom. If any one sees it, please grab it and let me know. I always reward a returned disc. Unless you never call. Then you have problems!
"I've got to work on getting my energy back." This coming from the man that puts more work into our courses than all of us AND the park districts combined! Rock on Sodfather!
It helped me out alot. Mainly that all the force should be at the end of the throw. I've also had numerous Pro's say that relaxed muscles move faster and are freer than tensed muscles. Yeti told me that the only time you need to grip the disc tight is at release. Your grip should be loose before that. Cam Todd described his throw like he was holding his girlfriend - gentle through the whole thing, he never squeezes the disc tightly. Also from what I've seen and experienced, running up, 3, 5 or 7 steps doesn't make a whole lot of difference. It's all about reaching all the way back and focusing your effort right around the release point. I've seen older pro's rip putters over 300' with 2 1/2 baby steps!
Course is OPEN!!! This according to the Manhattan Park Distrist website. I went out a few days back and checked it out for the first time. I really enjoyed it. I did put two in the drink, so if anybody finds them... name and # on them. Reward offered. The ONLY thing I'd reccomend is to have the course maps show BOTH baskets. The maps available at the board have red baskets only. Good for us, but there was a guy out there with one disc and two dogs. I had to explain to him that he might have more fun playing the silver baskets. I guess the problem will go away once the signs go up. The round tees are AWESOME! So many options, all courses should have them. BTW, what is the preferred route for red #5? All I can see to do is straight across the water (like west) with a little turn at the end. Essentially just trying to get an open approach. That is one tough hole.
Put me down J.P. Frank Grimes #17399 rating 846. I'm coming up to support our club. It's not necessary I play. I need to say hi to Tom McManus also. I think it will be a fun day!
ATTA BOY! AND YOUR PLAYING.....
Oh boy! The last time I saw Sr. and McManus playing together, shots were going in from everywhere. Guess Frankie might as well join in the fun!
That's a $250 fine for getting in the water. It's NASTY! Dana shot -4, 56 total, 1015 rated. Feldberg shot -16, 44 total, 1115 rated!!! New course record btw. Coverage continues thru Sat. http://discgolfplanet.tv/our-discgolfplanet-tv-portal
