We are going to play two rounds of 22 holes. A course map can be found here:
The exact location of the first temp hole is subject to change as the soccer fields were not lined when we were out there. We will most likely use a temp location for hole 17 as indicated on the map. This is to bring some of the swamp out of play.
Please pre-register. Only divisions that have at least two entrants pre-registered will have trophies. An exception is made for the Junior divisions. Trophies will be made for any junior division where there is at least one pre-registered.
I got to throw a few holes with Dana Friday when I was out getting the course setup. I can see why he took the win at this event. Great job Dana.
I think I finally got all of the post-tournament work done for this one. I need to improve a couple behind the scenes items to make it run smoother for me. Continuous improvement. Events like this are a lot of work. I appreciate all of the help (Tom, Brett, Dave, Dave, and Aaron) I had in setting up/taking down the temp holes and taking care of other little items that just make things run more smoothly.
I've gotten a couple of comments that people really like the hole changes between rounds. That was the work of some of the local players: Rod, Kris, and ... I actually have no idea who else helped here. It was something that I knew was going to happen, got done, and I didn't have to worry about it. Thanks guys! You have a beautiful course that I wish was about an hour closer to my house.
I appreciate the rest of the tournament staff (Jon, Becky, Scott). It is a team effort. Thanks for being part of the team.
Special thanks to our sponsors: Discontinuum - $500, fly pads, temp baskets Fade Gear - $200, four pairs of straps ABC Discs - CTPs
A couple of other house keeping items. There were a couple of three legged stools left behind by players. Send me a PM if you think it might be yours.
I'm already thinking about next year and how to improve things.
But until then, IOS #4 is next weekend (8/13-14) in Aurora. We'd love to see you all come out. Get your pre-reg in!
Online pre-registration closes at NOON on Friday July 29th. (We'll be out at the course and won't have net access). Since we are limiting the field to four-somes, there is a very good change that this event will fill. Please pre-register.
I have trophies in process for MPO, the four main Am divisions, and Int. Women. If anyone is planning on playing in any of the other smaller protected divisions, I need to know ASAP as it takes time for the trophies to cure.
Do your part in making this a smooth running tournament by pre-registering early.

Both as a TD and as a player, the pick your own is nice. From a TD perspective you don't need to guess how many people are going to play ahead of time. From a player perspective, I am picky about what I throw. If it's not a disc I throw, I look for something that I can give away to new players (or my wife or daughters).
It's nice to see that other clubs are getting more singles based leagues going. Fox Valley starts their handicap league up this Thursday. So if you don't get enough on Tuesday or have to miss it to see the Dancing with the Stars, come out to Oswego on Thursday nights. http://foxvalleymetrodiscgolfclub.com/new/league-handicap
