I think you may be referring to K's liquors in Shorewood. It's just past Shorewood park if you're coming off of 55 N. If you're coming from Joliet, it's before you get to the park.
Yeah, I had some midnight flyers myself when I started playing...In fact, adding my own bit of history...back in '79 and '80 I was the Illinois State Jr. Frisbee Champion...Not in disc golf, but in a variety of throws, catches, distance and accuracy events...anyway, to make a long story longer, as a result of that, Whammo invited me to the grand opening of Channahon when it first opened...as I recall, the layout is altogether different from when it first opened! And, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't it start at as a 9 hole course??
As for this disc, I put 3 offers on it and all were turned down! I think 40 bucks is a little steep, but it would be cool to have in the collection!
My son and I stopped in yesterday for just a few minutes to have a look around...and loved it!
As we were leaving, my son says to me: "dad, I could see just stopping in there to talk disc golf!!" As we noticed alot of that happening, I'm sure we'll be good customers too!!
Looking forward to this year's disc golf activity!!
And looking forward to having a retail disc golf store in the area!!
I was approached by Candy Cassetto, Executive Director of Illinois Valley Industries in Morris. IVI is a series of programs available to the developmentally challenged youth and adults in our area.
A few years ago, a scout looking to attain his eagle scout status, hand made several disc golf basket as his community service project...so, to make a long story longer...
She saw my truck which has numerous disc golf stickers on it, she asked who was into disc golf...when I told her that I was, she asked if there was a group in the area, and if there was if anyone would be willing to do a "lesson" for her group. She also explained that she would like to get disc golf into the Special Olympics.
So, J-towners, anyone interested?? Thinking maybe Patrick?? I would certainly help with anything and offer assistance in any way possible, just don't think I'd be able to take care of all of it myself (particularly the teaching part!!)
This could be something really cool and could help in the effort to get a course in Morris!!
The sign doesn't say anything about "only throw when your car is the only one in the front row"...it says not to throw at all. You didn't...Ultimately, you are at fault. While you may not be a little kid, you're posts trying to justify yourself proves you DO have a lot to learn.
Frank and Dean have been accurate in what they have said.
