Thanks for asking Jesse. I'm feeling no worse than flat. It seems that I have a hormone dysfunction. I'm still getting hot flashes & meet with an endocrinologist Thursday. That's a hormone Dr. I'm not sure what's up with the brain tumor. My guess is the side effects are minimal like slight headaches, so it's not of great concern at this time. Something is going on, I hope we can find it & treat it. Regardless of the bumps in the road, I'll be moving forward, Randy Moore is watching me
Jesse, Frank is one of the most positive Human Being I have ever met and I feed off his energy. He will beat this tumor because that's who he is. Frank is such an inspiration we can all learn from....I know I have.... Pray on!
I finally go the last of the donations. First I want to say this is about our club & our community, helping others. Every dollar counted, & thanks to all to put us currently in 2ND place with $9,332.00. When that article was written, I mentioned to Terri along with the board we'd be around $9,000.00. I guess she didn't believe me & said over $8,000.00. That's true. I'm not sure if y'all know the impact, but it's a big deal! The first year, $3,559.00, 2ND $5,700, 3rd $8,600.00, & this year $9,332.00. I'm not sure where will end up. It seems top five. Thanks for the post from the Herald Ray. Everyone in our club can brag!
PS Along with all this, I think J-Town won it's first club challenge, you go J-Town!!!
Pretty unreal.... You take that amount times 6 and you get over $55,000 in food for the less fortunate! What a amazing Ice Bowl. Great work Frankie and J-Town crew!
A bomb was dropped on me two weeks ago with brain cancer. Needless to say I've been extremely anxious. Not being contacted by the neurosurgeon, & curious I picked up my records. I have a tumor in my pituitary gland, 1.2 cm, just under 1/2". Reading about it, says it's most likely noncancerous. That's huge! A pituitary tumor is an abnormal growth in the pituitary gland, the part of the brain that regulates the body's balance of hormones. I'm curious if the 2 1/2 years of hormone therapy relates to this tumor? It's interesting how fixing one problem, creates another. Randy Moore knows what I'm talking about. You're support is huge!!! Most will have their family & friends. I'm blessed with the Disc Golf community, plus my family & friends!!!
Anything you need Frankie just ask. Prayers are pouring your way my Brother. Your strength and spirit has carried me through some tough times and you will beat this just like all the other evils you defeated. Friends and family are so important and you are always there Frankie. You are amazing!
Absolutely UNPLAYABLE. Where it's not frozen I was sinking in 2" and sliding around. NO CARTS. On the way out I stopped at the retention pond and cleaned off my boots and pants. Saturday will be a day of attrition.
Still have 4 days to dry up . Mother Nature be nice!
I realize this is early, but I'd like to jump on it for Ill. State. The erosion on the steps are like a handicap ramp. We need sharp flat shovels, & I can put an edge on it, if needed. I'd like Jesse to focus on the tournament, we can get the course ready.
I'll be your water boy again Frankie! Just let me know my friend.
Well, there is more concern about my health issues. I have a small tumor on my brain. It perhaps came from my hormone treatments, but for now it's unknown. I need to meet with a neurosurgeon & we go from there. My Primary care Dr. went to both ends of the spectrum, surgery to nothing. I complained on my cancer visits & thus the MRI & then these results. Further tests will be coming. I'm passing on what my primary care Dr. told me. I'm taking a deep breath & a sigh. Keep chugging the good thoughts & Prayers!!!
Prayers are pouring your way Frank. We are all here for you and our love is with you!
I have not sold any raffle tickets. Two are still pending, WalMart in Morris & DiVas, the woman's hair salon. Every one of you men need your nails done Anyway, we're at $2,000.00 value of items to raffle. We have a nice mix of items, $20.00 gas card from Speedway, a first, $50.00 from Ultra Foods, we all eat & use gasoline. Check out the list to see if it's something you want. Keep in mind, the nearly $6,000.00 in cash sponsors can't win. Everything the list will be raffled, & it's another way to give to the Charity. We're on-line to beat last year's $8,600.00. Don't be offended Fox Valley that I haven't posted on your board. This peek & peck takes a long time. I hope to see you out there.
Our club is well aware of the peek and peck.... We love the fact you care for the less fortunate.... we like to help and....
The Kendall County Food Pantry is 100% funded by donations. It's amazing these places can keep providing with no assistance. Many need help. Love to see disc golfers chip in when they can. Ice Bowls are special.
FVMDGC is dropping off $5785 and over 200 pounds of food to the Kendall County Food Pantry today. Big Thank You goes out to all the sponsors, helpers, golfers, and the Oswegoland Park District for making the Fox Valley Metro Disc Golf Clubs 7th Annual Ice Bowl the best ever! There were close to 300 Ice Bowls world wide this year and we feel we can crack the top ten for our first time. Will post 2013 results when they come out.
Well, I haven't heard this word apply to me, remission! I met with the radiologist yesterday, Jan. 11, & she uttered that word. The last two psa reading were 0.01 down from 13.82. It is awesome news!!! It can pop up again, but it's coming up to 3 years & everything is going in the right direction. Another step in this process is to have the hormone medication leave my system. I did not get a definite answer to that question, but in general a few months. Thanks for the support, it's huge!!!
It shows in your drives lately Frankie!
And you deserve it my Brother because you fought like no one I have ever seen fight that fight. Congrats.... me and my family are so happy for you Frankie!
