J-Town Ice Bowl / Ice Bowl Total 2013« on: March 18, 2013, 09:35:52 PM »
I finally go the last of the donations. First I want to say this is about our club & our community, helping others. Every dollar counted, & thanks to all to put us currently in 2ND place with $9,332.00. When that article was written, I mentioned to Terri along with the board we'd be around $9,000.00. I guess she didn't believe me & said over $8,000.00. That's true. I'm not sure if y'all know the impact, but it's a big deal! The first year, $3,559.00, 2ND $5,700, 3rd $8,600.00, & this year $9,332.00. I'm not sure where will end up. It seems top five. Thanks for the post from the Herald, Ray. Everyone in our club can brag!
PS Along with all this, I think J-Town won it's first club challenge, you go J-Town!!! 3
Thank You's / Tees Channahon« on: March 03, 2013, 07:24:13 AM »
I can only guess & I won't. Thanks for clearing the tees for tags & doubles for this week. That's super cool!!! I planned to do them Thursday, & it didn't work.
Thanks!!! 4
Courses / Highland Maintenance« on: February 27, 2013, 09:26:30 PM »
I realize this is early, but I'd like to jump on it for Ill. State. The erosion on the steps are like a handicap ramp. We need sharp flat shovels, & I can put an edge on it, if needed. I'd like Jesse to focus on the tournament, we can get the course ready.

Shoot The Breeze / Vietnam Sniper« on: February 13, 2013, 11:07:38 PM »
If you have time you might find this interesting. Perhaps some have heard in the news about the sniper Chris Kyle, a Navy Seal, with 160 confirmed kills, that was murdered & recently buried. There was a 200 mile trek for his burial.
That brought me to Carlos Hathcock a Vietnam Marine sniper. It's amazing when you need the barometric pressure to make the shot, of course the wind & distance is computed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Hathcock 6

J-Town Ice Bowl / Ice Bowl Raffle 2013« on: February 04, 2013, 08:06:42 PM »
I have not sold any raffle tickets. Two are still pending, WalMart in Morris & DiVas, the woman's hair salon. Every one of you men need your nails done
Anyway, we're at $2,000.00 value of items to raffle. We have a nice mix of items, $20.00 gas card from Speedway, a first, $50.00 from Ultra Foods, we all eat & use gasoline. Check out the list to see if it's something you want. Keep in mind, the nearly $6,000.00 in cash sponsors can't win. Everything the list will be raffled, & it's another way to give to the Charity. We're on-line to beat last year's $8,600.00. Don't be offended Fox Valley that I haven't posted on your board. This peek & peck takes a long time. I hope to see you out there. 8

J-Town Ice Bowl / Morning Star Mission Tour« on: January 29, 2013, 07:56:28 PM »
I have a tour scheduled for others at the Mission Thursday 01/31/13 at noon. I doubt any know the complex work they do for the community. As an example, they serve three meals a day and two meals on Sunday. In 2011, they served more than 186,973 meals to men, women and families. They have dorms, house battered women & their children. It may be meager, but they train people so they can care for themselves. You need to qualify to be admitted. The only one I know that would pass is Jason Poole. You can't drink or smoke, that means cigarettes. I know some don't smoke cigarettes
Type Morning Star Mission & Joliet is first. This is #1, first class organization.
