I found this stat interesting & thought I'd pass it on. The Mission served 151,503 hot meals in 2013.That's 415 a day on average. That blew my socks off!

The J-Town Ice Bowl is this Saturday, Feb. 8th. Snow is expected Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning. I'm not sure what the Park will do, other than the parking lot. The Pavilion & tees will need to be cleaned. If you can help, let me know, that would be Great!!!
We have 26 hole sponsors. We also have funds from winter league $589.00 & tags, $600 or $700.
Also, about 50 items to raffle. That's a little skewed with 20 coming from Jimmy K's. Haunted Trails gave a $92.00 package, Town & Country a $75.00 value & then two portable baskets. I forgot, Gary & Dana will be giving discs. That will push us to 60 to 65 things to win. Wal-Mart, Target, & locals have donated.
We're looking for feedback on the Tuesday's ace fund. The choices would be one ace fund for both sanctioned & unsanctioned players or separate funds for each. Let someone know what you think, we have until April. I'll ask around too.

If you want to help out let me know.
Aaron Studer, runs bag tags, has been collecting ctp's for a year, Mick & Mike, winter doubles have also been collecting. A huge thanks you guys!!! It's Awesome that we give back to our community.
My plan was to remove the snow on the tees this week end for tags & dubs. There is a 50% chance of precipitation Friday. So.....either Friday, or Sat. morning, I will be looking for help. It depends on the weather which day. Let me know.
Maybe some already know this, The use of hand-held cell phone devices behind the wheel will be prohibited. Bluetooth headsets, earpieces and voice-activated commands are permitted.
Just a heads up.

It's that time of year. There is some negative, I don't think me, personally, but I learned of some more negative news today. I've shared with some, & I only mention it because it's heavy on my heart. So.......some may know the hoops needed to jump through dealing with different parks. Channahon is not different, but I had joy today! There seems to be some disinterest for Channahon to care for the disc golf course. Well, I asked Slater if he would pick up some trees from Kendall Hill Nursery, Kathy Sharp, & we did, but only two. The short end is the park will pick up the balance, & without registration, plus plant them. Happy, Happy!
I'm doing this as a fund raiser for the J-town Ice Bowl. It's quite simple. It's a card with 10 lines that are blocked out. Put your name on a line, if the total score matches your line, you win!!! An example, Bears 27, Packers 20, the winning # would be 7. I hope we can raise $10,000.00 this year. It gives you a chance to win something & help with the fund raiser. It's $10.00 a line, half goes to the winner & half to the fund raiser.
I've been thinking about a basket circle around #13. Like #8 & #16. It's grunt work, digging it out & replacing & it with gravel. I don't have a time frame, so let me know if you can help. My guess would be about 4 hrs. & we need to do it on a week day, so we can use a cart.
That's Chris McCabe & Aaron Studer. I'm humbled, thanks you guys!!! I want to add Jesse donated the fund raiser from the Clsaaic, & Mick from the winter league. I don't post the total amount, but to give a couple of expenses, wood chips from Homer Tree Service, $300.00, red wood chips, 50 + bags, $175.00. It's usually around $1,500.00. One year it was $4,400.00. I sold some property & dumped some of it into the park. Thanks you guys, it's Awesome!!!
