It's that time of year. There is some negative, I don't think me, personally, but I learned of some more negative news today. I've shared with some, & I only mention it because it's heavy on my heart. So.......some may know the hoops needed to jump through dealing with different parks. Channahon is not different, but I had joy today! There seems to be some disinterest for Channahon to care for the disc golf course. Well, I asked Slater if he would pick up some trees from Kendall Hill Nursery, Kathy Sharp, & we did, but only two. The short end is the park will pick up the balance, & without registration, plus plant them. Happy, Happy!
I'm doing this as a fund raiser for the J-town Ice Bowl. It's quite simple. It's a card with 10 lines that are blocked out. Put your name on a line, if the total score matches your line, you win!!! An example, Bears 27, Packers 20, the winning # would be 7. I hope we can raise $10,000.00 this year. It gives you a chance to win something & help with the fund raiser. It's $10.00 a line, half goes to the winner & half to the fund raiser.
I've been thinking about a basket circle around #13. Like #8 & #16. It's grunt work, digging it out & replacing & it with gravel. I don't have a time frame, so let me know if you can help. My guess would be about 4 hrs. & we need to do it on a week day, so we can use a cart.
That's Chris McCabe & Aaron Studer. I'm humbled, thanks you guys!!! I want to add Jesse donated the fund raiser from the Clsaaic, & Mick from the winter league. I don't post the total amount, but to give a couple of expenses, wood chips from Homer Tree Service, $300.00, red wood chips, 50 + bags, $175.00. It's usually around $1,500.00. One year it was $4,400.00. I sold some property & dumped some of it into the park. Thanks you guys, it's Awesome!!!
Does anyone recall these pilots?
Sum Ting Wong
Wi Tu Lo
Ho Lee Fuk
Bang Ding Ow
These Asiana pilots did not know how to land the plane. It was in the news a few months ago.
I'm going through some things, & have some old newspapers with headlines. If you save headlines it might be of interest. Example, Ditka firing, Iraq bombing, 2005 White Sox, (0ne exception) I think 8 or nine. If you save that sort of thing, you may be interested. Actually, I kind of forgot, but the message is, if you collect that stuff, it's yours. The exception is, 2005, Chicago Tribune, BELIEVE It!!! What a Great Year for the White Sox Fans!!!
On hole #1 the basket has flags numbered 6,12,18. Each pennant has a different weight. The higher the # the heavier the pennant. Although it doesn't work well, the idea is to rate the mph. Low #, light wind, all three, strong wind.
I can use a hand, mostly spreading wood chips, getting Channahon ready for the Classic. The Park lets me use the cart, so it would be working hrs. 8:00am to 3pm. Other things I'd like to do is a gravel circle around #13's basket, tune up the gravel in front of some of the tees. Let me know.
