I have not sold any raffle tickets. Two are still pending, WalMart in Morris & DiVas, the woman's hair salon. Every one of you men need your nails done Anyway, we're at $2,000.00 value of items to raffle. We have a nice mix of items, $20.00 gas card from Speedway, a first, $50.00 from Ultra Foods, we all eat & use gasoline. Check out the list to see if it's something you want. Keep in mind, the nearly $6,000.00 in cash sponsors can't win. Everything the list will be raffled, & it's another way to give to the Charity. We're on-line to beat last year's $8,600.00. Don't be offended Fox Valley that I haven't posted on your board. This peek & peck takes a long time. I hope to see you out there.
I have a tour scheduled for others at the Mission Thursday 01/31/13 at noon. I doubt any know the complex work they do for the community. As an example, they serve three meals a day and two meals on Sunday. In 2011, they served more than 186,973 meals to men, women and families. They have dorms, house battered women & their children. It may be meager, but they train people so they can care for themselves. You need to qualify to be admitted. The only one I know that would pass is Jason Poole. You can't drink or smoke, that means cigarettes. I know some don't smoke cigarettes Type Morning Star Mission & Joliet is first. This is #1, first class organization.
It was suggested to raffle 4 tickets with the strip cards. There are 10 lines at $10.00 a line. Four tickets have a $132.00 value. If you like paintball, you could buy all ten lines & save $32.00. I have a total of 12 passes. Let me know.
Will they Work? They will be in lots of ten. Half will go to the Mission. They also can be in any increments, $5.00, $10.00, etc. & time frame, 1st quarter, 2nd, end of game. Some won't give unless they have a chance to win something, we'll see. This will be for the Super Bowl.
This is the year we had 20" of snow that dumped on us the week of the Ice Bowl. It was huge & the help to clear the tees, Scott Coyne came out to make paths with his atv & plow. It really is cool what the golfers did to get the course ready. Shawn & Scott Harmon of the group of nine that did the tees. Sorry, I forgot the others, but thanks.
Kathy Sharp, owner of the nursery donated 8 trees & shrubs to the Channahon disc golf course. John Carbonaro processed the pickup. The largest two are a 3" swamp oak & a 3.5" red oak. Around $1,500.00 of material. They are scattered throughout the park. These are placed for park beautification, not so much for changing shots.
