Courses / Channahon Snow Removal
« on: January 07, 2014, 09:16:34 PM »
My plan was to remove the snow on the tees this week end for tags & dubs. There is a 50% chance of precipitation Friday. So.....either Friday, or Sat. morning, I will be looking for help.  It depends on the weather which day. Let me know.

J-Town Ice Bowl / Re: J-Town 5th Annual Ice Bowl (2014)
« on: January 07, 2014, 07:36:04 PM »
I'm going to try and raise some extra money and food locally up here in the city and at my office. Does anyone know if monetary donations are tax deductible? This may help to get more donations so just wanted to ask about that so I have the proper information while fundraising. If checks are written, who should the checks be made out to? Thanks guys!
Yes, it can be deducted. I talked with the new director a month or so ago & she said she would send out letters.
Make checks out to Morning Star Mission. Be sure & get an address, although they are typically on the checks.
Thank for your help! :)

As some of you may know the director from the Mission, Terri Micetich, passed away, 42 yrs. old. I'm working with Chrissy Brown. I spoke with her, & we will have chili, but I didn't ask about the chicken noodle soup. As I read the post I said, oops, I forgot about the soup. I want to also mention, Aaron Studer has been collecting with Sat. tags ctp, Shawn McCarthy has a sponsor, Eric Doty, sponsor, Aces & Chains (Patrick) sponsor.  This is about helping others, lets join with Aaron, Shawn, Eric, Patrick, & others, to make the $10,000.00 mark.   :)

Thank You's / Re: Thankfull
« on: November 26, 2013, 08:14:58 PM »
It's that time of year.  :) There is some negative, I don't think me, personally, but I learned of some more negative news today. I've shared with some, & I only mention it because it's heavy on my heart. So.......some may know the hoops needed to jump through dealing with different parks. Channahon is not different, but I had joy today! There seems to be some disinterest for Channahon to care for the disc golf course. Well, I asked Slater if he would pick up some trees from Kendall Hill  Nursery, Kathy Sharp, & we did, but only two. The short end is the park will pick up the balance, & without registration, plus plant them. Happy, Happy!  :D
A second thought, without going through editing, Kathy's Dad, Joe, may be leaving us soon.

Omg thank you. I didnt realize i haf lost it til I got home. Where was it?
It was on the asphalt by the maintenance building where I park. I doubt you threw it there, so my guess someone put it there knowing that's where I park, the rest is history.

I tried to clear up my schedule and failed =(. I am available Friday if there is more being done this week. Otherwise next week is looking pretty open so far.
That would be GREAT!!!  :) I have something else to do tomorrow & will get started with the bench Thursday (concrete) Probably around 9am, so any time after that. A little down today, that warms my heart!!! See you Friday. If something comes up, I'll understand.

Happy Happy Frankie!
Shawn McCarthy's help was huge!!! Thanks Shawn!!! We had to dig through pit run (rock) We also did not have enough screening (gravel). After Shawn left, I took some old gravel from the old #14 tee. It was a little dirty, so we still need to finish it with new gravel. Shawn's been  super in my projects. The Highland retaining wall on #15 comes to mind. Shawn Harmon also helped with that project.
Happy, Happy,  :) That's the UPS commercial.

I've been thinking about a basket circle around #13. Like #8 & #16. It's grunt work, digging it out & replacing & it with gravel. I don't have a time frame, so let me know if you can help. My guess would be about 4 hrs. & we need to do it on a week day, so we can use a cart.
I have a date if anyone can help, Nov. 13. I'm also putting a bench on #16 longs. The holes are dug, we need to mix the concrete & set the posts.

Shoot The Breeze / Split Cards
« on: November 03, 2013, 07:18:46 AM »
I'm doing this as  a fund raiser for the J-town Ice Bowl. It's quite simple. It's a card with 10 lines that are blocked out. Put your name on a line, if the total score matches your line, you win!!! :) An example, Bears 27, Packers 20, the winning # would be 7. I hope we can raise $10,000.00 this year. It gives you a chance to win something & help with the fund raiser. It's $10.00 a line, half goes to the winner & half to the fund raiser.
