PDGA / Heartbreak in the Heartland
« on: May 23, 2013, 01:02:28 PM »
In the wake of the terrible weather related tragedy that occurred earlier this week in Moore Oklahoma, the PDGA would like to offer our most sincere condolences to any and all affected by this historic deadly storm.

The Little River Disc Golf Course was in the direct path of the tornado and suffered catastrophic damage as a result. The businesses and homes that surrounded the park are gone as well. We are all sure there is much work to do in the weeks and months ahead as the citizens of Moore rebuilds following this tragic event.

The PDGA is pleased to announce, as part of a joint effort with Innova Disc Golf and Team Twisted Flyer, that we are pledging our support to help rebuild the disc golf course in Moore. “It is important that the citizens of Moore, Oklahoma have a place where they can recreate as they go through this long rebuilding and healing process. Disc golf will provide them with this outlet and we are pleased to help them in any way that we can”, stated PDGA Executive Director, Brian Graham.

WEEK 9 - May 22, 2013
First Half #9
Trinity Links - Lockport
18 Holes - Ams/Nov - Short Tees, Pro/Adv - Long Tees - Par 54

CONDITIONS
The night started out with a Cool/Humid 72 degrees with WSW winds at 18 mph and gusts into the 20mph range.  It was overcast all night but no rain. The temp dropped to around 64 by the end of the night.
The course is in great shape considering the rain we’ve had lately.  The mosquitoes  and bugs were out in force.

NOTES
• The Swamps of Trinity ate everything in sight giving The Murder Rake a workout! There was a lot of crying because of lost plastic gems last night.

• Thanks Thor for letting us use the Trinity Links club house for registration. It was great not having to worry about the weather elements which makes a huge difference when getting things ready. Every course needs one.

•Trinity Links has come a long way these last couple of years. A huge THANK YOU goes out to all the guys who’ve busted their ass working on this course. There’s been a  lot of blood, sweat, tears and heart put into making this course great. I’m just glad to say it’s one of our home courses.

• Al Hermosillo & Dana Vicich prevail in a four-way tie playoff for first. They shot a very nice round of 47 (-7) from the long tees. With their win Al jumps into the top four and Dana moves into the top ten for the first half points standings.

• Mike Espinoza & Dylan Lhotak win a close playoff battle to take the top honors. They ended up shooting a great round of 46 (-8) from the short tees. What’s more impressive is this was the first time out to our league this year for Mike and Dylan’s first time at our league. Nice Shooting!

• No Aces!

This sounds like a lot of fun and good practice the day before the Chain Reaction Tourney. I'm in. You know I gotta go with my trusty Champ Ape!

Really Pete? 958 rating and your throwing am's? Riiiiiiiiight
I stuck him in the Am division and as of today’s rating he has become an Advanced player. I’ve been waiting to see where his rating would be after a few rounds in the books and it’s no surprise he’s already at a 958. I can’t wait to see where he is at the end of the year.

I was messing around hombre. It's anyones game when you're playing with one disc and I just want to get in his head.....

Damn guero you just busted him and made me move him up.

I asked him after, he said 11 and 22

Yes it was 22 I watched him throw that hole.

"Paul ends up pulling the Cali card " - Doh!

How many people were thinking "Oh boy, we're in trouble now."???

It was definitely cool to have Paul out there but our guys are fearless. Plus it's anybody's game at West Park.

I take it Paul missed #11. Which other hole did he miss Jesse?

I think hole 12.

I believe Thor & Josh were keeping pace but missed their last two holes, which were 20 & 21. They ended up with a -20. Ouch!
