WEEK 3 - April 10, 2013 First Half #3 Shorewood Park - Shorewood 18 Holes - Short Tees - Par 54
CONDITIONS The night started and ended with the temperature around 40 degrees and a Windchill of around 33 degrees. The winds were steady at 15mph with gusts into the 20s all night. We had overcast skies all night but no rain. The big bad storm never came during any part of the round. The course was a bit muddy but considering all the rain from earlier in the day it wasn’t in horrible condition.
NOTES • Once again last night we had many new faces that we hope will continue to show up each week. We also hope that the familiar faces that weren’t there will make their way back and be part of this year’s league. We miss you!
• Please don’t be discouraged if you’re an AM and had a rough night. Shake it off and try again next week. The more you play and learn from the league’s more experienced players the better your game will evolve. We’ve all been through this stage.
• Tom Matesevac & Clayton Drake cruise to a playoff victory in the Pro/Adv Division. Considering the conditions they shot a fantastic round of 41 (-13). They also make big jumps on the leader board
• Tim Guajardo & Greg Fredricks easily take care of business in the Am/Nov Division. They take down their field by two strokes shooting an amazing round of 42 (-12).
• Three weeks in a row for Tim Guajardo. He takes a huge lead in the points standings.
• Ouch! Both divisions had the third place winners earn an extra point but took home NO money. I don’t think this has ever happened. You guys made DOUBLES HISTORY! Darrin Johnson and Dave Kociuba in the Pro/Adv Division Chango Saenz and Mike Saenz in the Am/Nov Division Sorry Guys!
• It looks like this years Am/Nov field is one of the leagues strongest ever. It’s going to be a battle all year!

I remember last year at IL State the Culvert/Drain on Hole 12 was caked with mud making it very difficult to tell where the OB line was. The mud must of came out at least three feet into the culvert. I ended up shoveling it out for the J-Town Fest but it's probably pretty bad again. I'm just assuming you call this OB.
Hi Jesse - I have a favor. Apparently the other night some of our local hooligans had a massive drinking party out on the course. They actually pulled a bunch of stumps into a circle, and left piles of beer cans, booze bottles, and assorted other nice garbage. Could you spread the word around that if anybody in your clubs sees ANYTHING going on out there that shouldn't be, to call me? Here is my cell number (708) 372-1534. Or the Mokena Police. We try to keep the course clean and you guys who play seriously are great at being stewards of the courses, so I thought maybe you all could assist me in keeping an eye on the place. There is a Village Trustee who lives literally right next to the course, who doesn't like it so close to his home to begin with. I don't want to give him any ammunition against us. Between us, unless it is something obviously criminal, I'd prefer the call come to me before the cops. I don't want to give them any more reason to be out there hassling the everyday golfer. And since I live like a block away, I can be there faster than them anyway. Thanks!

J-TOWN DOUBLES WEEK 1 RESULTS 2013 WEEK 1 - March 27, 2013 First Half #1 Shorewood Park-Shorewood 18 Holes - Short Tees - Par 54
CONDITIONS The night started at around 41degrees with overcast skies. By the end of the round it dropped to around 39 degrees. The winds were pretty much calm all night. It was a cool night for the spring/summer league. The course is a bit muddy. It’s still going to take some time to dry out. There is some construction taking place on some holes. Overall it was a great night to start the year.
COMMENTS • It was great to see everyone again. We had many new faces that we hope will continue to show up each week. We also hope that the familiar faces that weren’t there will make their way back and be part of this year’s league. We miss you! Please don’t be discouraged if you’re an AM and had a rough first night. Shake it off and try again next week. The more you play and learn from the league’s more advanced players the better your game will evolve. We’ve all been through this stage. We’ll see you next week.
•The Taco Lady is back! Juanita & Scott will be selling tacos for a $1.50 at league for most of the year.
• An opportunity to toughen the course had arrived so we took advantage. A construction fence lined a few holes so we made it OB. Hole six might of been a little drastic because the fence was about a foot behind the basket but hay it’s just doubles league. We will play it the same way again in two weeks if the fences are still there.
• Yesterday marks the first time in league history that the Wed. doubles league started in March. It was a little cold and sloppy but worth it. We actually had daylight when we were done!
