First Half #8
West Park - Joliet, Illinois
24 Holes - Short Tees - Par 72
Conditions: Temp: Mid 80s, a little cloudy and a little windy to start. High 70s with the winds calming down at the end. A great night for disc golf.
The course was almost completely dry.

A new J-Town attendance record broken!
39 PRO/ADV 56 AM/NOV
Whipping the fields butt to take first place was John Knudson Jr. & Brandon Rosch. They shot a fantastic round of 51 (-21). With only five weeks left until the end of the first half they tack on four huge points to their totals. They end up splitting $133. We had a tie for second with the teams shooting 53s (-19). Steve Forneris & Randy Bruemmer win the the ctp playoff on hole 24 to take the second place honors. They end up taking home $44.50 each. Steve Slater & Jon Boster take the third place honors and split 62 bucks.
There was a tie for first. Zach Pershau & Matt Preston end up winning the playoff to take the first place honors. They end up splitting $80 which is the biggest payout for the Am division to date. Mike Ryan & Kevin Maciuba end up in second and take home $25 each. The teams shot great rounds of 56 (16). There was also a tie for second place with the teams shooting 57s (15). Pulling out the ctp playoff were Ryan Gavrick & Scott Paraday. They end up splitting $39.

Dennis was a great guy and an awesome player. He had one of the prettiest backhand throws I ever seen. One of the holes at Channahon was named after him similar to Highland Park's holes All the holes at Channahon were named after local players with big wooden plaques hanging in trees. Does anybody remember what hole Dennis had and what it was called?

The course looks beautiful!
Added three holes after hole 2 called the triangle. 3a tee pad started south of hole 2s bridge. The shot was a 270’ anhyzer back towards the water near hole 2s pro tee. The water was in play with a lot of shots ending in the middle. 3b was a 330’ straight shot back towards hole 5s basket. 3c was a 300’ straight shot back towards hole 3s tee.

Shooting a fantastic round of 46 (-17) was Ryan Hoffman & Brian Bazan. The end up taking first by a stroke and end up splitting $131. The also add 4 points to their totals moving them up the point chart. With only 6 weeks left in the first half this was a big move. We had a tie for second. Mick McGowan & Jason McKinney win the ctp playoff on hole 1 to take second place. They end up taking home 42 bucks each. Al Hermosillo & Kris Hutter end up in third and split $57. The teams shot 47s (-16).
Jason Riley and Scott Parik trash the field by three strokes to take first place. They end up shooting a great round of 49 (-14) and end up splitting 75 bucks. Jason Smith & Jake Riley shoot a 52 (-11) to take second place alone and they take home $23 each. There was a tie for third with the teams shooting 53s (-10). Cory Clements & Ryan Gavrick end up winning the ctp playoff on hole 1 to take third place honors. They end up splitting $35.

Debbie was a great person. One of the main reasons we had Gary all these years is because he had Debbie. She is a major part of Joliet Disc Golf history and where it stands today. She is missed dearly by the JTown Disc Golf Community.

We're working out a few last details. Pre registration, fliers and all info should be out next week. All Pro and Advanced are definitely playing on Saturday July 24 and the rest of the Ams will be playing on Sunday July 25.
Deborah S. (Borman) Lewis
Passed away at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, Monday, May 25, 2009. Age 55 years. Survived by her husband, Gary Lewis; her brother, Keith R. Borman, her mother-in-law, Lois Lewis; two sisters-in-law, Gail (Charles) Carter and Jean (David) Maryanovich; two nephews, Drew Carter and Daniel Maryanovich; a niece, Hayley Carter; many special friends also survive. Preceded in death by her parents, Robert H. (1983) and Gertrude M. (2001) Borman; her father-in-law, Robert C. Lewis (1986) Debi was a graduate of Lincoln Way High School Class of 1971. She has a zest for life, was a passionate gardener and design landscaper for Creative Designs, assistant manager of Lowes Garden Center, The Fields Nursery and the Brick Barn Nursery. Debi loved to travel especially to the Michigan lake shore. An avid shopper and gourmet chef, she was also a member of the Joliet Cross Country Ski Club and attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

The CFR discs are in with the basket artwork. We have Katanas and a mixture of other discs. They are $20 each. The CFR INNColor Star Rocs + (180g) are with the bird (Wayvern) art. We also have the Supercolor Buzzz’ with the Wayvern art. The Rocs and Buzzz’ are $25 each. All sponsorship money from the sales of the discs will go towards the overall purse for IL State. We will have them at Wednesday's league if your intrested. Hurry and get yours soon because they are going fast. Leave me an email if you have any questions.
