Courses / Re: Highland Park Cleanup for IL State

SUNDAY JULY 6 WORK DAY.
I'll be out around 8:00 am and hope to complete the Belmont area.
Bring:
lawnmower
weed whacker
rakes
power saws
hand saws
pruners
loppers
I'l have garbage bags.
We have just shy of two weeks to get Highland ready for Ill. State. Getting the Park ready puts added stress on Jesse. I think he has a ton to focus on relative to the tournament. I think next week-end up to the the tournament will be crunch time. If you can help out, that would be sweet. Right now it's general in the scope of everything.

Thanks Paco for all your hard work. All the rain this year is doubling the work but the course is looking better each day. We just need it to stop raining for a couple of weeks.

WEEK 13 - July 2, 2014
Second Half #1
West Park, Joliet, IL

TEES
24 Holes - Short Tees - Par 72

CONDITIONS
September temps in July! The Temperature was a cool 66 degrees to start the night. Skies were overcast with a slight NW breeze. By the end of the night temps dropped to around 60 degrees with a heavy drizzle. Of course more rain! The course was in fair condition considering the storm we had. Some tee pads were muddy and slick but overall in good shape. A few trees and branches were blown down but not bad.

NOTES
• In the Pro/Adv field Steve “Fern” Forneris and Dan “Li’l Sumpin Extra” Osysko take the first, first place victory for the second half with an awesome round of 52 (-20).

• In the Am/Nov field Aaron “Bag Tags” Studer  & Justin “First Timer” Gierich claim the top spot with a great round of 55 (-17).  This is Justin’s first time at league! Nice Shooting!

Also, don't forget to support JD's event - "Bring your own trilogy!" This will be held at Trinity Links after the Trilogy Tee Pad Challenge. You can bring your three favorite discs from any manufacturer for his event. Some proceeds from this event will also go towards tee pads at West Park.

More info here:  https://www.facebook.com/BringYourTrilogy

Support the sport you love! Let's blow the roof off!

There are only 14 spots left as of this morning. If you are planning to play, I would highly recommend pre-registering soon.

My thanks to everyone who has already registered for supporting this fund raising effort! As I have mentioned to many of you, Gary Lewis will probably be redesigning the course. Tee pads will not go in until after the redesign (for obvious reasons.) I have a special savings account for these funds so they will be available at that time.

We also have 7 paid tee pad sponsors so far:

1.) Sooper Lube - 1111 W. Jefferson St., Joliet, IL
2.) Basket Cases Disc Golf
3.) World Famous Bob, and Michael Walsh
4.) Aces and Chains Disc Golf, 1706 W. Jefferson St., Joliet, and 324 W State St., Suite 100,  Geneva (4 tee pads)

My thanks to each of these generous sponsors, and all those to come. Please support each of these businesses, and thank each individual or group when you see them! I will be soliciting businesses for sponsorship until I have enough funds for all tee pads.
