1st Half • April 1 – April 29, 2015 • Week 5

Hermosillo maintains a 3-point lead

McMillin, Cembala, Eichorst, Pashos and Seddon are all tied with 10-points at the five week mark of the first half.

See You Later,

Next Week Highland Park!
5:30 Start
Pre-Registration is CLOSED for IOS #68. We have 27 spots available for Saturday, and 15 spots available for Sunday.

Here's how the spots will be awarded out:
At 6:30 AM we will start handing out spots. If there are more players than spots available at that time we will have a LOTTERY to hand out the spots. This means that you do not have to arrive super early to wait. However, you would want to arrive by 6:20 to make sure you are included in the lottery that would take place at 6:30. If there are still spots remaining after 6:30 AM, we will continue to hand out spots on a first come, first served basis. We will probably not be set up well enough yet at that point to register you for the event, but you would at least have a ticket to get in. Plan to start being called up at 7:30 AM to register.

FOR SUNDAY: We WILL allow people to pre-register with us on SATURDAY for Sunday's event! These will be handled on a first come, first served basis.

Any spots still remaining Sunday morning will be handled just as we are handling Saturday's remaining spots.

WEEK 5 - April 29, 2015
First Half #5
Knoch Knolls Park, Naperville, IL

18 Holes - Par 54
We played old #1, Mando left down the original fairway on #2 and old #3’s tee pad to new basket.
The course is dry and in good shape but there is alot of tree stumps to trip over.
The temperature started out in the upper 50s and dropped into the lower 50s by the end of the night. The winds were in the teens and gusts in the upper teens and it always seemed like a head wind. It made the course a little tougher.

• Knot Knoch Knolls!
After a few year hiatus we are back at Knoch Knolls Park. It’s a nice little 18  hole course that’s good for the beginning and the ending of the year when we have daylight issues. We’ll definitely be back next half. It’s was nice to be crapping in 10 for a change, if you know what I mean.

• Going into the night most players were thinking the magic number to win would be a 36 (-18). Two teams came close but it didn’t happen this time. Maybe it was the wind always in your face, or maybe it was just a new course most players didn’t know or maybe it was that damn mando on hole #2. Either way we’ll be back in the second half see if we can get that Perfect Score.

• Groups were messing up on the 180 foot holes and parking the 300 ft plus holes all night. Although I can't leak any names. Schmooky & Bibz Oops!

• Kris “Big Hutt” Hutter and Tommy “Tommy Gunn” Arianoutsos    shoot a great round of 37 (-17) and win the playoff to capture the victory.

• Mario “Bebe” Guzman  &  Dan “Mickey D” McMillin easily take down the Am/Nov Division in a playoff. They shot a great round of 43 (-11).
• 2015 GLA, Let’s here about it!

• 2015 SLA, Let’s here about it!

• J-Town One Disc Challenge June 5, West Park

• IOS #68 - Dave Pitner Memorial May 2 & 3, Channy

• Birdie Bash May 16, West Park

• Learning to Fly May 17, The Canyons

• First Flight May 23 & 24 The Canyons, Highland & Channy

• Trilogy Challenge June 7, Trinity Links

• Ropes At The Oaks June 20, The Oaks

21 PRO/ADV     20 AM/NOV

Hutter & Arianoutsos take the top honors. They end up taking home 55 bucks each and take a big jump on the leader board with 4-points. Hutter now sits in second place alone for the first half. In second place also shooting a great round of 37 (-17) were Old Man Johnson & Steve Rachan. They end up splitting 66 bucks. Brian Kevish & Taylor Cimala take third place shooting a great round of 39 (-15). They split 34 bucks.

Guzman & McMillin take the top honors. They end with 4-points and $28 each in their pockets. Dan jumps into a 5-way tie for first for the second half. Taylor Gubser & Jeff Kinsella also shoot a great round of 43 (-11) to take second place and split 28 bucks. MIke Eichorst & George Bade take third place and split 16 bucks. Flyer attached below or
Click on link for Flyer
Introducing series points for clubs! At this point it is just for bragging rights, but we thought we'd experiment with a team/club component to the series.

Points are as follows:
If a player places in one of the 5 major divisions (MPO, Am1-am4), they will earn their club points
1st = 10 pts
2nd = 5 pts
3rd = 3 pts
In the smaller divisions where there are at least two players participating:
1st = 5 pts
If a club has more than 10 players participating on a given day, they will earn 10 bonus points.

When you checkin, show the your bag tag for the club you are competing for and we will note it on your leader board card. The bag tag is required; no tag, no points! Note that this is just for identification purposes, the IOS team is does not have the manpower to compute/run tags for all of the participating clubs.

This may get tweaked through the year based on how things go and the feedback we receive. Please let us know what you think.

IMO, all excellent changes. Will the same be true for Tuesday night handicaps?

I haven't had a chance to get out there yet, so it will be a day of decision.

Don’t forget we are at Knoch Knolls Park in Naperville this week with a 5:30 Start.
I’ll have maps.

A few changes:
Hole #1 we will be playing the original hole. The old tee pad is still there.
Hole #2 there will be a mando left of a marked tree down the original fairway.
Hole #3 we will be playing the old tee pad to the new basket.

Only 5 more days to get the free t-shirt added to your players pack by registering early for First Flight presented by Axiom Discs. Anyone who registers after the end of April "only" gets 4 discs, a poster, and the players guide. Players who pre-register prior to May 1st get the free t-shirt in addition to the above. Please note that only the first 100 players to register will get the free t-shirt. We are currently at just over 70 players registered.

You can register at www.acesandchains.com

This will be a great event. 3 rounds over two days at The Canyons at Dellwood Park, Highland Park, and Channahon's Community Park. The players party Saturday night will feature free food to all registered players who attend. Current plan is to have chicken, subs, and pizza. We will also have a long drive competiton, and a putting competition open to registered players. Winner of each event gets a free Innova Sport basket! We will also have a raffle with some choice items.

As the biggest (and only) Ams only A-tier event in the Joliet area, you don't want to miss it.
