J-TOWN DOUBLES WEEK 7 RESULTS 2019
WEEK 7 - May 15, 2019
First Half #7
Highland Park Joliet, IL

TEES
White Tees  - Par 54 • 18 Holes • A Pins

CONDITIONS
It was a picture perfect night for disc golf. To start the night the temps were in the mid 70s with clear skies. The temperature dropped into a very pleasant low 70s range by the end of the night. The winds were calm with max of only around 5 mph out of the west. Most of the night was very calm. The course has some muddy areas but it is mostly just tacky. Some of the course has been cut but there is still some high grass in a lot of the fairways.

NOTES
• Half way through the first half!

• Nothing like finishing up the night just as the darkness settles in. Perfect timing, right Marc?

• Patrick “PJ” McMann & Marc “Marckie” Borowski whip the Pro/Advanced division by two strokes shooting an amazing round of 53 (-11). Word on the street is that Marc had one of his best driving rounds at Highland ever and PJ continued to be ridiculously accurate with his putter from all distances. A deadly combination when teamed up for doubles. With this win PJ is now in a tie for first for the first half and Marc is very close to catching the top four and in striking distance of first place.

• Mike “Rocky” Craig and Andrew “Tiddies” Tidwell shoot a great round of 47 (-7) and put a hurting on the Am/Nov division with a two stroke victory. These doubles combo clicked with both players taking turns with outstanding driving and putting. Tiddies dedicates the round to his Ex. With this win they both jump into a tie for first and open up a two point margin.

• Shout out to VJ on him acing hole #12 which was also a ctp money hole. After being out with an injury for a while I’d say this was a nice welcome back. Watch out VJ’s back is back.

• Thanks to Jerome Harvey for sponsoring hole 14s ctp. He put up a sweet Dynamic Discs Disc Golf Bag Strap.

• Once again we had many new faces that we hope will continue to show up each week. We also hope that the familiar faces that weren’t there will make their way back and be part of this year’s league. We miss you

J-TOWN DOUBLES WEEK 9 RESULTS 2019
WEEK 9- May 29, 2019
First Half #9
Community Park, Channahon, IL

TEES
Short Tees  • 18 Holes

CONDITIONS
It was a great night! The temperature was in the high 70s to low 80s with the dew points in the mid 60s making it feel nice and warm. The winds were completely calm the whole night, which is unheard of at Channy. There were a few clouds but not a drop of rain touched the ground. Channy is in unbelievable condition considering the crazy amount of rain we’ve had this year. There are a few muddy and swampy flooded areas as expected but nothing like it use to be. Hole 1 & 3 are in great shape. The only major area that the water is holding is the low lying area that starts on the left side of hole 4s pin and runs east up through hole 7.

 NOTES
• 4 weeks left of the first half!

• Paula “Momma Borowski” Borowski  and Jamie “JamieMac” McDonald take the win by shooting an excellent round of 57 in the Women’s Division.

• Tom MMMM Matesevac and Dave “Daddy K” Kociuba shoot a fantastic round of 39 (-15) and take the top spot in the Pro/Adv Division. After being out for a few weeks Dave shows up with a bang. They both jump back in the game for a top fours finish with just a few points out of a top four finish.

• Tom “Tomasz” Gronski  and Clayton “Big Money” Pelzer shoot an amazing round of 41 (-13) and take the win by a stroke in the Am/Nov Division. I’d say Cayton’s first time at league will be a very memorable one. Tom makes a giant leap towards the top of the leaderboard and he is now in striking distance of a top four finish for the first half.

• Bolton Bros C’Mon Man! One aced a ctp hole but didn’t get into the ctp fund and another on aced but didn’t get into the ace fund.
Just messing with you guys. Those were great aces and I’m glade you guys like coming out to have fun!

• Shout out to Troy Batemen on hitting an ace on hole #3 which was also a ctp hole.

• Best shoes award for the night go to Chris Sprietzer and Clayton Pelzer. If you don’t want to get wet were your rubbers.

• Shout out to Matt Ryan for sponsoring a Buzzz hat for a Women’s ctp on hole #18.

7A- 175ish foot hole. Short tee to elevated basket guarded by bamboo fence.
7B 400ish foot hole. Alternate 7 tee pad to B Pin.

CONDITIONS
The night started out in the low 80s and dropped into the mid 70s by the end. The dew points were in the low 70s to high 60s so it felt a little sticky but overall very pleasant. The winds were out of the NW at around 3-9 mph. Rain sprinkles came and went throughout the night but not even enough to break out the umbrella.  Other than that it was a perfect night for disc golf. The course is dry and in fantastic condition.

NOTES
• Only 5 weeks left of the year.

• Overall points are now in play. You must have played in both halves to qualify for overall points.

• Paula “Momma Borowski” Borowski  and Jamie “JamieMac” McDonald shoot a great round of 57 and take the win in the Women’s Division.

• JimmyMac guarantees a win before the round and he delivers. With great driving and huge putting Jim “JimmyMac” McDonald and David “Festiband” Garb shoot an outstanding round of 43 (-14) in the Pro/Adv Division. This is now Jimmy’s second win in a row and he has won three times in the last four weeks. He now jumps into second place alone for the second half and he is in striking distance of a top three overall finish. Meanwhile Garb has only showed up three times this second half and he has twice. He also shoots up the second half leaderboard and he is in striking distance of a top four finish.

• In slaughter rule fashion Pete “Pistol Petey” Wilson and Kurtis “Ponyboy Kurtis” Simonich completely annihilate the Am/Nov Division by FIVE strokes. They end up shooting an amazing round of 44 (-13) and take the first place victory. With this round they would of cashed in the Pro/Adv field. Kurtis is completely on fire and with this win he moves into a tie for first for the second half and he moves into second place overall. Pete is now in striking distance in both the second half and overall standings.

The J-Town Disc Golf Doubles League moves to the Northwoods. Almost 30 J-Town players make there way to the 25th Northwoods Open at the Sandy Point Resort in Wisconsin. Good Luck Everyone!

•   Slaughter Rule Alert! Jim “JimmyMac” McDonald and Nick “Beam” Austin completely annhilate the Pro/Adv division by 4 strokes by shooting an unbelievable round of 41 (-13). This is Jimmy’s third win in a row and this win catapults him to first place for the second half and he is now only one point out of a top three overall finish. Nick has been away from league for almost a two years and he hasn’t even played since April but his natural instincts kicked in as he turns in one of the best double scores ever at Highland Park. Welcome back Nick!

• We had a tie in the Am/Nov Division and due to darkness the teams decided to have a ctp playoff on hole #10. Tom “Gronk” Gronski and Vitas “VJ” Jok prevail in the playoff. They end up shooting a great round of 50 (-4) and take the top honors for the night. Tom makes a big jump in the second half standings and he is in striking distance of a top four finish. He also now only one point out of a top three finish overall. VJ is also in striking distance and he is only three points out of a top four finish for the second half.

• Shout out to David Hopkins for the extra CTP prize. A Cash Days 2017 bottle opener.

• Shout out to Jimmy Mac. He is on a tear this second half winning three in a row and four out of the last five weeks.

• Races are heating up with only four weeks left. I can hear the trash talking already.
