J-TOWN DOUBLES WEEK 22 RESULTS 2019
WEEK 22 • September 4, 2109
Second Half #9
The Canyons at Dellwood Park • Lockport, IL

TEES
White Tees • 18 Holes
1, 2, 6-12

CONDITIONS
It was a cool night with the temps in the high 60s to low 70s. We had a NE wind blowing at around 10-12 mph. The course was in great shape.

NOTES

• Only 3 weeks left of the year.

• Next week is a 5:15 start

• Paula “Momma Borowski” Borowski  and Jamie “JamieMac” McDonald shoot a great round of 60 and take the win in the Women’s Division. Thanks for coming out this year and battling.

•   Dean “Bangham” Bingham and Zack “Finsky” Finwall win the intense three way tie playoff and claim the victory in the Pro/Adv Division. The teams shot great rounds of 41 (-13). This was a huge win for Zack because now he sits only a couple points out of a top four finish for the second half and he takes sole possession of third place overall

• We also had a three way tie in the Am/Nov Division with the teams shooting great rounds of 43 (-11). Battling in the darkness and winning the intense playoff were the Musicians Mitch “Mad Dog” DePirro and Cory “Drummer Boy” Simonich. This was a major victory for these guys. Mitch now sits in a tie for second for the second half and he is only one point out of first. He also is only one point out of a top three overall finish. Cory keeps himself alive in both the second half and overall standings. He needs to keep placing in the next three weeks.

• BADA BOOM BADA BINGHAM. Dean Bingham hits the trifecta! He wins and hit an ace on a money ctp hole. That’s about as good as it gets.

• Races are heating up with only four weeks left. I can hear the trash talking already.

CONDITIONS
It was a beautiful hot humid September night. The temperature rose to the low 90s and the dew points were in the mid to high 70s. Warm winds were out of the SW at around 9 mph with gusts into the high teens, but as the round went on so did the wind, dropping into the single digits. By the end of the round the temps dropped into the low 80s but the high humidity was still present. Sweat was definitely flowing but it was a perfect night for disc golf. The course looked beautiful and is in great shape.

2 Weeks left and there is still a lot to decide.

• Anthony “The Salesman” Noe and Billy “The Boy Wonder” Wunder shoot and amazing round of 39 (-15) and easily take the victory in the Pro/Adv Division. Billy makes a big jump in the points standings and keeps himself alive for a top four finish for the second half. It was good to see Anthony back out at league doing damage.

• We had an intense playoff in the dark in the Am/Nov Division. Ultimately Tom “Gronk” Gronski”  and Joey “The Ruler” Pharo win the night and split 62 bucks. They shot a great round of 44 (-10) and tack on four huge points to their totals. Tom keeps himself alive in the second half standings but more importantly he now jumps into third place alone in the overall standings. Joey keeps himself in the conversation for the second half and overall standings.

• Shout out to the Noe brothers. It was good to see all of them out at together playing league again.

Congratulations to Andrew Tidwell for winning the playoff against Vern Manning and taking fourth place for the first half.

CONDITIONS
It was a picture perfect night with the temps in the low 80s. The humidity was a little high with dew points in the high 60s, but it felt great. At the beginning of the round the winds were a little strong out of the SE blowing in the 12 mph range with gusts in the high teens. The winds slowed down considerably as the night went on. The course is in great condition. The mosquitoes were a little strong

NOTES
• 2 week left of the season!

• 5:15 starts for the rest of the season!

• We will draw cards at 5:10 for the rest of the season!

LAST CHANCE WEDNESDAY at TRINITY
We will continue league with one more week on Wednesday October 2 with a twist.

Registration will start at 4:00pm and we will draw cards at 4:50 pm
League ace money will carry over to this night. If no one hits on this night then the ace money will carry over to the J-Town Fest on Saturday October 26 at Trinity.

SPOILER ALERT! That’s right, when you don’t have a chance in placing in the first half, second half or overall then we play spoiler. The main goal of a spoiler is preventing the contenders from receiving extra points. Once again we had a lot of spoilers this week making the last week extremely interesting and intense for the leaders.
1 Week left and there is still a lot to decide.

• Paula “Momma Borowski” Borowski  and Jamie “JamieMac” McDonald shoot a fantastic round of 56 (+2). They probably would of shot under if the darkness didn’t get them on hole 17. This round was 9 strokes better then last year’s winning Women’s Division team when we played Trinity in week 24. Their improvement is incredible!

• Shooting fantastic round of 40 (-14) in the Pro/Adv Division were Matt “Big C” Coyne and Nick “Beam” Austin. Nick has only played three of the last four weeks and he has won twice and he has taken second in the other. Nick is playing great golf right now. Also with this win Matt makes a huge jump and he sits only one point out of a top four finish for the second half.

• We had three way tie for first in the Am/Nov Division with the teams shooting great rounds of 45 (-9) and several of the top guys on the leaderboard fighting for extra points. In the end Pete “Pistol Petey” Wilson and Sean “Seany” Cunningham win the intense playoff on the fourth and final hole. With this huge win Sean jumps into first place alone for the second half. Pete makes a huge move but he might fall a little short of a top four finish for the second half.

• Trinity Links has come a long way these last few years. A huge THANK YOU goes out to all the people who have busted their ass working on this course

• Thanks to the Taco lady for feeding us all year.

• Shout out to Zach “ZMac” McDonald on hitting an ace on a ctp hole!

TOP THREE

Big C Coyne and Beam Austin take the top honors for the night. They end up splitting 120 bucks. Shooting a very nice round of 41 (-13) and taking second place were Dean Bingham and Mike Noe. They end up splitting 80 bucks and stealing points. We had a tie for third with the teams shooting great rounds of 42 (-12). Winning the ctp on hole 1 were Buddy Lee and Brandon Damerjian. They end up splitting 50 bucks and they also steal points for the contenders. Spoiler is the name of the game at this point. Top guys need to do some damage next week.

TOP THREE
AM/NOV
Pistol Petey Wilson and Seany Cunningham take the top honors for the night and they split 66 bucks. Taking second place and also shooting a great round of 45 (-9) were Joey Pharo and Dan Ford. They end up splitting 36 bucks. Joey makes a big move in the second half standings but it looks like he might fall just short of a top four finish. Taking third were Mitch DePirro and Cody Daughtry. They end splitting 26 bucks and with that extra point Mitch jumps into a tie for second place for the second half with Vernon Manning. Mitch and Vern are also only one point out of first. Mitch is also now one point out of a top three finish overall. He needs to at least finish second place next week to have a chance at an overall trophy. No pressure Boys!
