Brought several newbees out today to enjoy the new plantings and the Deer strolling about. What a wonderful place at Channahon. Frank has like 30 projects going on and they are so cool. Plantings, Landscape's and Basket gravel reconditioning O My! What a machine. Love the Castle topper on hole two. It is like a fortress of Disc denial which several in our group used in a negative way today. get out your grappling hook out to get over this one. Nice touch Obey Sod Kanobeee! Much Love from Fox Valley!
Have tag's now and I apologize for the delay. Everyone that was at Invitational is a member and is welcome to our Sunday Bag Tag shoot out every Sunday. Ace pot is currently at $100 bones. Come out and make yourself at home at Eagle every Sunday at 9:00am for $1, 18 shots. Thanks again for supporting the game and helping us raise money for the Sod Father (Frank Grimes).
January 29th 2011 is the date set for FVMDGC 5th annual Jericho Lake Ice Bowl. We decided to move it up this year to leave time in between J-Towns Ice Bowl so that our club members can plan on attending both Ice Bowls. Looking forward to both of these great events! What a great group! As Randy stated your club was 14th & we were 22nd out of 222 (WOW) in monetary donations.
Eagle Ridge Longs are set in Stone! 30 days from first phone call to Mr. Mike Fee making this happen. Thanks to the grounds Crew.
The 14th of November I called together and organized a walk through with John Tiffany to mark out the longs. The last club meeting I brought up that I wanted to move forward with this project and push for placing stone immediately. The subject was pushed and a committee was formed. Delay in forward progress so I pulled the trigger. Communication with the Park District gave me no time to sit on this. Mike Fee made it clear that if we wanted to move forward now was the time due to man power availability and bad weather coming soon. Like to thank again Mr. Mike Fee for pushing forward and surgically placing the stone on all 17 long placements (#9 long in place already). The ground crew is amazing and how they did all that work without ripping up the course is beyond my understanding. Oswego Park District continues to improve the Eagle Ridge Park and I as a FVMDGC member appreciate all that they do. Side note the ball started rolling with this project October 26th when I called Tom Betsinger and Mike Fee to ask if we could move forward with the longs.
Members in attendance: John Tiffany, Blaine Schepp, Aaron Scott, Mike Krupicka, Gary Camp, Jason Poole,
All long locations stay the same except the following:
Hole #1 shortend 15' and slightly closer to scrub to the track side.
