A very late update here! I'd say the day was a success. There were a bunch of people out for the event. We had no conflict with Parker's MVP event that started an hour earlier. The PD gave out a bunch of 150-class DX Sharks. A perfect disc for beginners! And I have never had so many questions or done so much teaching in my life. Pretty cool that most of the people asking me things were older then me too! And on a side note, I do like the new layout. For those that played soon after the new 18 were put in, there has been a re-design. There are some tricky holes now. It's not destination golf, but it's not a wasted trip either. It really seems like the designers got everything they could out of that piece of land. The clientele is even changing. I'm not opposed to playing it during the Summer now!
We have a huge IL contingent going down to Brooksville, FL to play on one of the best pieces of property for a course I have ever seen! Taylor, Slater, Ray, Dan Pastore, Dana, Keith K. and me. Bart Z. too. Good luck to everybody. I'm leaving this Wed. I'll post up my impressions of the course after I see it. I should have some pics up on my facebook page too. Great to see everyone heading down!
I'm in! And yes Jesse, that is an appropriate division for me! Still planning on having that island hole for one of the temps (between 3 and 4)? That pavement really chews up my discs, so I'll bring an extra if we're playing it. Cool hole though!
Have the doctors looked at menopause for the hot flashes? Ha. Just kidding. Glad to hear that you're keeping your spirits up.
On a side note, I have an update for you with my dad's prostate cancer. 6 1/2 months ago his PSA had skyrocketed to 29.5. The proctologist put him on a chemo pill, bicalutamide or something. Last week he was tested again and his PSA is now 0.25!! I guess the stuff is working. Although it seems to be messing with his hormones as well. It seems the chemo messesup testosterone levels. But he is ecstatic at the PSA. Keep trucking on!!!
Series Finale @ Streator is CALLED OFF!!!! Half the course is underwater and the pavilions are almost completely submerged. Dana will be trying to figure out a new date ASAP. Remember all our water is headed down there so no chance it will go down in time. Bummer!
Interesting, but VERY technical. Here's what I see. The top guys just light it up! 17 down is HOT anywhere. And at the Memorial, for those that aren't lighting it up, scores can skyrocket quickly. With so much water around, OB penalties add up real quick. Therefore there is a huge score difference between the average pro's and the top-level guys. Some of those greens at Fountain - sheesh! I'd have to swallow constantly to keep my rectum from shooting out of my mouth!
