I just wanted to officially thank Jon Boster for agreeing to help teach this clinic on short notice. I know he is unlikely to see this post, but others will. And I owe him thanks for being there to help me when I needed it.
The clinic went very well. The kids loved it, and by the end, all of the adults present wanted a go at it as well. Hey Patrick, thanks for the official notice.
Hey Patrick, thanks for the official notice. Jon Boster is a thief, he steals, & he lies. Give me something official when he pays Mick the $50.00 he stole from him. I hope you're not giving any history lesson about Jon Boster, officially. He needs to make things fight in our Disc Golf Community, Officially!!! & Period!!!
Hole #11 at Channahon has turned out to be a big pain for one reason & another. Different reasons, wet weather, equipment breakdown, lack of cooperation from the Park (to be fair disc golf is low priority, no revenue) timing to be there. That changed today. Shawn Harmon, & Roy Bazan along with Brian McCarthy from the Park, including myself removed the rock. That paved the way to get the pulverized dirt. It seems when I get in a spot those two are there. Thanks Shawn & Roy we moved a lot of rocks.
Today is a day that I haven't felt better in a long time. The thought of dying of cancer has been a big deal to me. The Gleason score of 8 has been my concern. I slept through the night last night, I think a little Jack helped. I realize having cancer is old news, but for me it's a daily reality. It has made my struggle much easier because of so many that care. Believe me, it's easy to say I quit. I can't quit with the love & suppot I'm getting. I might add to keep you thoughts & prayres for Randy Moore Sr. He has been a 4 year struggle.
Did you people notice winter league is starting at 10:30am? We at one time, started at 10:00am, & then 10:30 & then 11:00 Mike has to get up with the new baby, so he'll be up at at it. Congratulations Mike & Amy! Glad to see it Mick,Mike, & Carbo. I'm pleased we're starting a little earlier so we can watch, Da Bears!!!
Thanks for that Randy, you were a good inspiration for me. I thought that was so cool when you & Fox Valley first did that. I hoped i could some day do something for our area. We, J-Town, have a club now, a year old. It was a good opportunity to do something. You were an inspiration to me & Thor made mention of & the rest is history. Thor also took me by the hand to show me his approach, as you did also. I think it's a super, great thing. I have to thank Pitner also for getting caught up in our enthusiasm & giving the Mission the winter jackets.
That looks awesome Jason, #4. I think we need to get a better coat of stain so the color shows up better. Maybe the different light as you took the pictures make the stain look different. It looks very nice Jason!
I had some of the same thoughts when I came home. A good tournament is a huge amount of work. Jesse, you & your staff did a tremendous job. The more I see what it takes to run a tournament, it blows my mind what Gary Lewis did years ago. The names that come to mind are of course you Jesse, Gary Lewis, Mike Kursell (unbelievable) Jason Poole. They're certainly others like Jake spotting on #9, Dean & Laureen also filled in spotting on long #6, Roy bringing his basket. I know there are others that don't come to mind immediately. Whoops, I think you can fit Darrin in there someplace. Whoops again, Dale & Wrong Way (Phil) The synergy is awesome. Good work Jesse!
I couldn't agree with you more Dean! Ben! You are not special! That sign is posted because there was an incident. The park does not need the liability. Something happened Ben for them to put the sign up & I wish you would respect the privilege you have to play there. It's different than drinking, someone could get hurt or there could be property damage. The solution is real simple, if you don't like the rules & conditions, don't play there!!! What's going to happen is the basket will be removed. Why do a few have to ruin it for many. You need to join the military, you'll learn what no means or pay the consequences. Keep it up & get caught & the basket will be gone. I'm going to tell you what I really think the next time I see you. You don't seem to be a reasonable person & just care about yourself.
An interesting thing happen to me yesterday. I bumped into the park superintendent yesterday. We ended talking about the meeting we had a week ago. The two supervisors talked a couple of days before & the executive director said it doesn't look good for Frank. I felt like a used whore & my age was showing. Any way both of us where ready to tell the other to take a hike. I've had years of negative build up & was prepared to throw it down the tubes. I just wanted to get one more thing done. Like I said, I thought about it for some time & they probably felt the same way. It was music to my ears when I was told we like what you do & want you to continue. It brings me back to,do you believe in God?
Ha, ha, ha, ha! You see I get confused easy sometimes too, that made me chuckle. Some morning it's great to get up & have something put a smile on my face. I have a picture of Jesse going oops & Dean (bangam) going, what's up with that.
It really worked out pretty well tonight relative to cross country. They start around 4:15 & are wrapping up by 5:15. the bangam had everybody start past #3 so by the time we got to #16 everything was clear. The relative new xc route was brought before the Channahon Park district board some years & they went along with the new route. It worked out nicely for tonight. Of course when they have a big meet nothing works for disc golf. Tuesday & Thursday are usually much smaller. Not relative to xc was the rain! It just dumped, with lightning!!! Some didn't finish.
We may have a problem with our handicap league Tuesday 09/21 at Channahon. It's cross country season & Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Saturday morning are cross country days. Sometimes on week days there are only a few runners & sometimes many. I know this & should have said something sooner. I have no conclusion, we'll just have to see.
