This summer, there is a ground clearing project starting at Highland park. The main goal is to clear all the downed trees and limbs that can potentially be hazardous and damaging to the course. Mike Flynn has stepped up and laid out a plan. His plan will successfully clean up the course and recycle the cleared debris back into the course. This plan has 3 main phases:
1-Rounding up and piling up all the trees and limbs. This will be done over the next couple of months. You will see wood piles starting to form in some key locations. Feel free to add to them if you have some free time.
2-Renting a wood-chipper. The budget for renting a large chipper has already been approved. We will need at least 2 trucks and a bunch of strong backs. We will move the chipper to the staged piles and begin chipping them down and spreading them on the course.
3-Finishing touches Although the chipping will only be 1 or 2 days, the piles of wood-chips left may take longer to move around. Also the bigger logs will need to be moved to more useful places.
If you have any thoughts or ideas, or would like to volunteer to help with this project please let me know. With such a vast undertaking, any and all help is appreciated. DISC GOLF!

After giving it more thought, I decline nomination for vice president. I like what Dave K. is doing. One example is an unsanctioned Ice Bowl. I suggested that a couple of years ago. He has respect from our Disc Golf community & seems to be trying us together.
Howdy all. The start time has been moved up to 7 am. This should let those who want to, help and attend tags. With the current course conditions we will be focusing on course clearing. There are dozens of big branches all over the course, along with some downed trees. Hand saws, carts, sleds and ropes will still be needed.
I'll be there with my chain saw...........but not at 7AM, probably around 8:30.
