We have major tree issues now at the course. The two storms from last weekend have just decided to leave major tree and tree limbs lying in the middle of almost every fairway. We need as many volunteers as possible with chainsaws to help cut down this mess. We are getting in touch with the Park District to see what kind of help they can lend. If you have any kind of time and a chainsaw and would like to help here’s a list of what we’re facing. Hole 1 – Tree down over tee pad, it’s supported by another tree but looks dangerous – ChainsawHole 2 – Small trees near basket – Hand cutterHole 3 – Big tree down right by basket – ChainsawHole 4 – Big tree down and big limb in fairway – ChainsawHole 6 – Big tree down by tee pad stairs – Chainsaw, smaller trees on basket side hand cutterHole 7 – Big tree down fairway/right of fairway – ChainsawHole 9 – Tree limb by tee pad – Hand sawHole 10 – Big tree limb down by in front of red tee pad – ChainsawHole 13 – Big tree down in fairway – ChainsawHole 16 - Big tree down in fairway – ChainsawHole 17 - Big tree and limbs down in fairway – ChainsawHole 18 - Big tree down in fairway - Chainsaw
I went to the park to chop some trees last night and as I pulled in I noticed some of the trees had been cut and removed. As I drove and walked farther through the course I realized almost all the down trees from the storms had been cut and cleared. Wow I’m in awe! I think the Joliet Park District must of came in and did this massive job quickly. I’m still not positive but if individuals did this please let me know. Paco is putting the finishing touches on some dangerous hanging trees. You should have seen the grin on his face when he came up with his new chainsaw. He’s like a kid in a candy store, trees don’t stand a chance with his new beast. We are now back on track with just trimming and garbage collecting. Thanks Paco & Chango for helping trim & cutting last night. The big thing now is trash collecting. The course is pretty messy. People still think they can dump their personal garbage throughout the course. If anyone has time and still wants to help out then please pick-up trash. Thanks again to everyone who has been helping.

It reminds me a little of Oswego, where the one armed wild man helps out. Maybe fuzz ball brings up a picture. He's full of spirit!

They did a wonderful job! Thanks Vargo, or maybe Gary. I'll be out there Thursday to help, maybe a spotter to help cut the leaner on #1 would be helpful. Your doing a super good job Jesse & & I'm thrilled to be a part of your efforts.
