Title: J Town 2012
Post by: CEValkyrie on July 20, 2011, 04:45:10 PM
It's never too early to start planning for 2012. I'm just throwing this out there. Has J-Town considered running an A-Tier? It would be nice to bring a permier event back to Illinois. Something to think about.

That’s definitely something exciting to think about. But I think the jump in standards between a B-Tier an A-Tier might be too significant for the baskets at Highland. That’s a costly project that would need some major funding. We definitely have the courses and a huge group of people that can pull it off, but that’s also a big commitment to have in place by Dec 1.   The 30th Illinois State Disc Championships as an A-Tier does sound pretty cool.

Jesse,

The PDGA is pretty leinant when it comes to those standards. As long as you add the information about the baskets to the proposal and get it ok'd by the PDGA it's possible to do. I was out there today in the blistering heat. For as old as those baskets are you guys did a great job refurbrishing them.

A future Amatuer Worlds would be pretty darn awesome too!

See you this weekend! I'm staying in Illinois even though there is an event with 30 minutes of my house. IL has a real tour!
