An unsanctioned disc golf tournament to raise funds for tee pads at West Park.
Trilogy Challenge: A unique format using only three discs provided by Dynamic Discs, Latitude 64, and Westside Discs. Players will play one round at West Park using only the three discs provided by Trilogy - One driver, one midrange, and one putter. The lowest score after one round will win a great prize package of three discs from Dynamic Discs, three discs from Latitude 64, three discs from Westside Discs, a bag, and several other goodies!
All levels of players are invited. This is a great "starter" event for players who would like to get into tournament play. Though we will be following the rules set forth by the PDGA, play will be more casual than a fully sanctioned PDGA tournament.
Cost is $30, with $9 of each player fee going toward improvements at West Park, including, but not limited to, new cement tee boxes for each hole.
In addition, we will be approaching businesses to sponsor additional tee pads at a cost of $160 each. Any business or individual who sponsors a tee pad will get their name/logo on the tee pad sign! I have attached a powerpoint presentation that can be used to solicit tee pad sponsorships. If you wish to help get sponsorships, it would be greatly appreciated! Please do not promise any particular tee pad to any sponsors you get. I've decided that the best way is to assign sponsors to holes randomly in a drawing after we get all the boxes sponsored. Gary may decide to redesign the course as part of this process, so each hole may be completely different than it is today anyway.
Walk ups will be welcome on the day of the tournament. There will be no additional "day of" fee for walk ups.
Player check-in will be open from 8:30-9:15am, with a short players meeting to follow. Tee off will be approx. 9:30am.
This tournament will be limited to 96 players (ie: 4 per hole.) Pre-registration is up and available at: http://acesandchains.com/node/1173 (http://acesandchains.com/node/1173)

I also have sponsorship forms available at the shop if you don't have powerpoint.
-
I cannot pre Reg it says out of stock. Also I will stop in for a form. I am going to ask my work if they will sponsor a hole.
-
It says that we will be provided with three discs . One each Westside, DD, and Lat64. Any idea what discs those will be ?
I am interested in playing this tournament , but I wasn't aware I would be playing only with discs provided to me. That might make a big difference in my and others game.

I also couldn't pre register. I even registered with Aces and Chains and setup an account, still says pre-registration is "Out of Stock".

Thanks for letting me know you are having issues with the website. I always appreciate that!
I think I fixed the pre-registration issue. Please try it again and let me know if you have any issues.
The discs you will receive from the Trilogy manufacturers will be as yet unreleased at the time of the tournament. The only info I have on them is that they will be a Fuzion Dynamic Discs driver, a Latitude Opto or Gold midrange, and a Westside Bt putter. At least, that is what I am being told right now. More info about the Trilogy Challenge can be found here: http://trilogychallenge.com/ (http://trilogychallenge.com/)

All signed up. This is a cause I think every player in the area can get behind. :D

Can you fill me in on the cause? Is it a fundraiser?

New cement pads at West Park. It is a great course that many avoid just because of the teepads. I am guilty of this myself.

After the trilogy challenge is over I will be running a bring your own trilogy event over at Trinity Links. I am still working out all the details, but the basic idea is bring you own three discs (driver, midrange, putter) and play a one round cash tourney. Half of the money will go towards the payout and the rest will be spent on beverages with any leftover funds going to the teepad fund. Two divisions Am and Advanced/Open. 10 for lower division and 15 for upper division. There will of course be CTP's and an ace pot.

So if we play this we are going to have to use the 3 discs that we get at the Trilogy Challenge? What if you don't play the challenge earlier in the day? Will you have discs for sale?
-
No you will not have to use the discs from the trilogy challenge. This will be a bring your own event. Chose a driver, midrange, and putter that you own and bring that out to battle. Just trying to stick to the whole trilogy theme.

When is the cutoff date for sign ups?
-
There is no cutoff date to register. I will probably close pre-registration early the night before, but I am accepting walk ups. Sign ups will be limited based on the number of players packs I order. I won't know how many until we get much closer.
-
Nice ! thanks for running this event !
-
We are closing in on July 5th, and I hope that everyone can make it out to my event at Trinity. Really hoping to raise some money for new tee pads. This will be after Patrick's event. https://www.facebook.com/BringYourTrilogy (https://www.facebook.com/BringYourTrilogy)

For anyone who's tried to register in the last few days, there was an issue with the website which should be cleared up now. Please try again, and if you have any issues, post here or give me a call at the shop. 815-207-8874. Thanks!
-
How many people do you have signed up as of right now?
-
So far, 24 players have already signed up. I ordered a total of 72 players packs, which are due in tomorrow. However, you will not be able to get your players pack until the morning of the tournament (for obvious reasons.) The discs provided are the as yet unreleased Shield, Claymore, and Thief.
Hope to see everyone there!

World Famous Bob and Mike Walsh
"check is in the mail " for 190 ( 160 tee sponsor and one player pack _ not sure If I can play that day but WFB might )
-
Thanks so much for your support! I'll hold a spot for which ever one of you shows up. Lol.
-
Up to 33 pre-registrations now. Field is capped at 72 for this event. Get your registrations in!
-
There are only 14 spots left as of this morning. If you are planning to play, I would highly recommend pre-registering soon.
My thanks to everyone who has already registered for supporting this fund raising effort! As I have mentioned to many of you, Gary Lewis will probably be redesigning the course. Tee pads will not go in until after the redesign (for obvious reasons.) I have a special savings account for these funds so they will be available at that time.
We also have 7 paid tee pad sponsors so far:
1.) Sooper Lube - 1111 W. Jefferson St., Joliet, IL
2.) Basket Cases Disc Golf
3.) World Famous Bob, and Michael Walsh
4.) Aces and Chains Disc Golf, 1706 W. Jefferson St., Joliet, and 324 W State St., Suite 100, Geneva (4 tee pads)
My thanks to each of these generous sponsors, and all those to come. Please support each of these businesses, and thank each individual or group when you see them! I will be soliciting businesses for sponsorship until I have enough funds for all tee pads.
-
Also, don't forget to support JD's event - "Bring your own trilogy!" This will be held at Trinity Links after the Trilogy Tee Pad Challenge. You can bring your three favorite discs from any manufacturer for his event. Some proceeds from this event will also go towards tee pads at West Park.
