Hey Joe you should talk to Shawn about buying that disc. I know the nine time KC use to be his favorite Roc and he was buying them from whoever was willing to part with them.

That's pretty damn awesome to see that many players have joined the club in just a few months of existence. You guys are doing a fantastic job! Jason, the list looks great the way you arranged it.

This was actually taken at West Park during lunchtime at the 2002 Illinois State Championships. You had just got done eating this massive steak and smoked a huge cigar when you decided it was nap time. Joe Joseph started busting up and said hey, look the old fart is sleeping. We were laughing a butts off when that head fell. Sorry Frank I couldn’t resist this priceless shot.

Try not to go up against Ice Bowls that already established within driving distance. The Fox Valley Metro Ice Bowl is February 13 and Milwaukee’s Ice Bowl is January 30 & 31. I know Milwaukee is kinda out of the area but it draws huge numbers from different states. Guys use to travel there from our area, but I’m not sure if they do anymore. It also looks like Carbondale, Peoria and Valparaiso all have one. Check this website www.icebowlhq.com/ for more dates. Ultimately whatever date you pick players will come.

Hey Thor,

You should have one at Trinity. Trinity Services can be the beneficiary of cash raised and if they don’t accept food then a local Lockport food bank can benefit. We used to travel to the Ice Bowl in Milwaukee every year and it was a great time.

The 1998 AM Worlds in Appleton, Wisconsin

Three Illinois boys in the top 10 and 4 in the top 25. Darrin Johnson was unstoppable, throwing an incredible back to back -11s on day two. Everybody was in awe with these scores. It looked like Darrin was going to
dominate the tournament, but there was one problem, the Wisconsin boys.

They weren’t going to just let someone from Illinois walk in and win on their home turf. They also played great all week posting some awesome scores, especially in the final rounds. They ended up sweeping the top three spots. Darrin took an amazing fourth place.

Petey Schaefer (IL) quietly played consistent all week to take a great fifth place finish. I remember there was a huge North Carolina clan following in his group in the finals. The were loud because Brian Schweberger was making a final push for fifth. It was on one of the last holes when Pete nailed a 40-50 footer to seal the deal. The crowd became pretty silent knowing Pete just wrapped up fifth place.

I was caddying with Frank Luce for Darrin in the lead group when we seen this played out. It was hard to control our emotions seeing a good buddy make a huge putt. Scott Klatt (IL) in pain tied for tenth. The night before the finals he was up all night with flu like symptoms. In the morning for breakfast he had a crazy request for a chocolate shake. Our waitress some how made it for him and turned in a gutsy finals to secure his tenth place finish.

A very young John Knudson Jr. (IL) tied for 22nd. From then on we all knew he was going to consistently start whipping our butts and he has ever since. Frank Luce tied for 61st and cashed. The rest of us didn’t do so well, but it didn’t matter we had great time.

Going away for a week and playing disc golf with some great friends was priceless. I did get to meet and have my photo taken with Steady Ed. He also signed the disc I aced with during the tournament on hole #2 at Plamann Apple Creek 18.
It was a great tournament with great memories. I attached a couple of photos & the advanced final scores.

Jesse - make sure to send Brett an email and tell him you're interested in running some events so that he includes you on the list of TD's he contacts when it comes time for scheduling.  Those emails should start coming out soon!

I'm already in contact with Brett. Scott thanks for the reminder anyway.

most likely at Highland.
