Starting Saturday 12/5/09, the J-Town Discgolf club will be hosting weekly bag tag challenges. The schedule will follow the current winter league schedule, every Saturday at 10am.

A club officer will be running each challenge. We are looking for a volunteer to run these challenges. Please contact an officer if you are interested.
Tag challenges are free to play with an optional $1 ace fund.

The volunteer would collect the tags and mark down the names, tag numbers, and collect the ace money. At the end of the round, they would sort the tags based on score and redistribute tags. At this point we were only planning on having an ace fund, however, if people wanted to do a blind birdie or ctp we could add those as options.

Well i have heard that they are gonna start pouring concrete at highland tomorrow if it doesnt rain so i was gonna change tags to west but with the storm that we are getting right now we are gonna do it at?
When it rains like this, channy is always the driest option.. i wouldnt mind west if it dries up a little.. its supposed to stop raining at like 6.. then supposed to get hot as hell again.. so it should dry up.. and west wasnt bad on wednesday anyway..

First come, first serve is the general way someone gets a tag. With the top 25 (I wasn't there, so help me out Aaron) there was a play off at Round Barn to see who ended up with the lowest tag numbers. After that, it depended on when you bought your 2013 tag.
The tags are really just for bragging rights - no other reason for them as far as the other part of your question.
first come first serve meaning they would take the highest one for a new member, or the new member would get the next lowest number? The reason I ask is i was given #42 today, but there were many higher numbers already out there in the mix
what i was getting at, was if they were given out in order, and joe signed up today he would get say 53, if i had someone sign up tomorrow, he would get 54...thus knowing how many members would be in the league.
Not trying to undermine authority by any means here, just curious as the way I mentioned has been done in other leagues ive been in. I plan to be at as many of these as I can get to (pending the wife and soon to be newborn)
I hand out the lowest tag that I have. The tag numbers are not always in order. Example would be, there are 5 board members and a few other club members that have tags for sale. I have run thru my allotment a couple of times. That being said, each time I get a new allotment of tags, they are not necessarily going to be in the same numerical order of what I received the last time. I hope this makes sense to you.

How exactly does the Ace Pot work? I was under the impression once we hit $50 for the backup pot we would resume paying into and playing for pot 1 exclusively. Are we just paying into each pot in $50 increments until they're both at the same amount and then switching back to the other?

If and when pot 2 hits 100, we'll go back to paying into 1. Yes, we are doing it in $50 increments. You are always playing for pot 1.

It's still bag tags (we are still playing for our own tags based on scratch score within the club), it's still casual (not sanctioned), but its for more bragging rights (and lots of fun) than just your JTown tag! That's Great! You can see the schedule on the left side of the screen. The handicap is also for tags. Simply buy a tag for $15.00 & show up. Saturday is scratch play & Tuesdays is handicap. You need to play three rounds to establish a handicap average. That play is free, although you can get in the ace & ctp funds. For $1.00 you're round will be sanctioned & reported to PDGA for a rating.

It would be great to have you down - I keep meaning to post in Midwest Disc Golfers FB page about bag tags and handicap singles. Like Frank said, just bring $15 for your club membership to Bag Tags or Handicap Singles and you're ready to go! There are some stipulations for handicap singles, but they are easy to meet - just check on the forum page and it will explain it.

Just so it's clear, Phriendly, Bag Tags is NOT sanctioned - Handicap Singles League is...well, you will have the OPTION for each player to pay a dollar and make their round a PDGA sanctioned round.

To get an idea how high the water is, it breached the banks of the I & M canal, I55 was flooded & closed between I80 & rt.6, water was just below the base on basket #4. Good bye bridge :(

To get an idea how high the water is, it breached the banks of the I & M canal, I55 was flooded & closed between I80 & rt.6, water was just below the base on basket #4. Good bye bridge :(
Holy smokes! I knew it had to be bad...but wow, that's pretty bad! I'll be out to help clean up when it's safe!

It's extremely unlikely Channahon will be ready for play this Tues. or Wed. 4/23, & 24th. I'll be needing help, the chips will be low priority. I can only guess at the damage, we'll see.

Reminder that this weeks Bag Tag Challenge is Thursday September 26. You must be signed in by 4:50 p.m. Tee off will be at 5:00 p.m. sharp.
If you are not playing the final event of the Trinity Links Points Series come out to tags Sunday October 13 2:00 p.m. at West Park.
Normal schedule for bag tags resumes next Saturday October 19 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Links. Also, starting November 2 you will have the option of sanctioning your round for an additional $1.

This season, we will be doing this as a free handicap singles league. Each week you will receive points based on handicap score. Tags will still be distributed based on scratch score. Trophies will be handed out based on total handicap based points for the season. You can play for FREE each week if you'd like (All-In is $6, which includes 2 CTPs, an Ace Fund, and PDGA Sanctioning). All players are welcome regardless of skill level. You do not need to be a PDGA member to participate.
This season will run from 10/18-12/20 skipping the Club Challenge week of 11/1 (9 weeks).
