Frank's and Bean's Tuesday Night Handicap League
(Handicap - Singles League)
Start date: APRIL 2nd, 2013 and will be the same schedule and course as the doubles league, just the night before doubles. (See Doubles Schedule on front page).
Entry fee ($5); optional Ace ($1); optional PDGA sanction ($1); CTPs (2 or 3 CTPs @ $2 each). CTPs will be designated as Prize Fund & Club Enhancements.
The payout will be the top 30% with a minimum of $5 for last cash. $0.50 from each entry fee will pay the hot round of the day.
Players will still have the option of playing leagues as a PDGA Sanctioned event. They will receive official ratings and points.
Handling of non-rated players: If you do not have a PDGA rating, your first 3 rounds at the handicap leagues will be free to establish your handicap. You will only be allowed to participate in the Ace Fund, CTPs, and Bag Tags (Bag Tags will be determined on the scratch score).
Another option to acquire your handicap: if a club officer is willing to play those three rounds outside of league night, they will "sign off" that your scores are valid to use to develop your 3 round minimum for getting your "handicap". After you accumulate more rounds, your rating will be taken from your last 5 rounds.
Frank Grimes, Rob Gibson, and Dean Bingham will be running Handicap League. Jason Poole will be handling the PDGA sanctioning and results.

Gibby and Grimes Tuesday Night Handicap League
(Handicap - Singles League)
Start date: Tentative start is April 9th, 2013 and will be the same schedule and course as the doubles league, just the night before doubles. (See Doubles Schedule on front page). I will update after I confirm with Jason that we are set with the PDGA sanctioning.

Good job Gibby! Only another month & the summer season starts. In past years handicap has not started with Shorewood, as doubles does. I'm neutral, it's your call.
Why April 9th, why not April 2nd?? or March 26th??
Just curious...
Thanks!
Kev
i would move it to march...just because i leave lol
sounds good!

No real reason other than I wanted to be sure we were ready with the PDGA - I put TENTATIVE, so we may indeed start the week prior (April 2nd)
Doesn't really matter, just antsy to get on with the whole spring/summer disc golf thang...
Thanks, my brutha!!
The reality is there is not enough daylight moving it much earlier.
Gibby and Grimes! Awesome! I'll be there. =)
After talking to Jason, the name has to stay at Frank's and Bean's due to the perpetual trophy system they have negotiated for JTown. No biggie; Frank and Dean are still involved and it's still an awesome day disc golfing!
Want to also confirm that Handicap League will indeed start on April 2nd, 2013.
Is it possible if an official can post a couple scheduled rounds before then. This way it will be easier to set something up. Just a thought.
there is one on the left side of the screen under the leagues headline if thats what you mean

Yes, the left side of the message board, like black & white posted. Titled leagues, then under that , spring/summer, & then handicap. That starts 4/2, at the round barn.
I believe he is refering t o doing s couple of rounds with an official to establish his handicap prior to leagues.

Is that what you mean, Mike F.? I will talk to some of the officers and see if they will allow bag tags results from Aaron to be used. There might be a stipulation that you have to play on the same card as either me, Aaron, or Dean...or just Dean, but I will ask.
Yeah that is what I am referring to. This way I don't have to wait to first 3 weeks of leagues.

After getting responses from the officers, it will be sufficient to use the best 3 of your last 5 bag tag scores to get your handicap. That will go for anyone that doesn't have a rating and plays bag tags.
Based off of tournament and bag tag rounds, I have the following ratings available for Handicap Leagues.
Name | | J-Town Rating |
Elliot Ambrozich | | 869 |
Joe Duncan | | 820 |
Michael Flynn | | 852 |
Mason Gibson | | 530 |
Mike Gonzalez | | 885 |
Tyler Gubser | | 876 |
Jose Herrera (http://www.pdga.com/player-stats?PDGANum=56490) | | 889 |
Kristi McCarthy | | 710 |
Garry Murphy | | 806 |
Ismael Ochoa (http://www.pdga.com/player-stats?PDGANum=54425) | | 872 |
James Reid | | 829 |
Cody Schmook | | 863 |
Sy Spencer | | 838 |
Eric Thortsen | | 738 |
Derek Vane | | 795 |
Chris Wright | | 872 |
Just a reminder to everyone, next J Town meeting is on July 8th. Come out and voice your opinions. Not to throw mud, but I want to play all of our great courses. I know of several players that refuse to come back to handicap after this change.
thanks JD! Looking forward to seeing you at the meeting next Monday and hopefully we can find a solution. I am thinking something like a heads up with signs the Monday before or something to that effect. One thing I wish I had on Saturday (at the ropes) was a printed map to the nearest course to hand out to casuals as an option to a full course with leagues. We can all put our heads together and figure something out.. thanks for everything!
if ye shall ask....
I ask Jason if it would be possible to make the results for handicap's sort-able, so if one wanted to know who shot the hot round/ highest rating/ see lowest tag/ etc etc etc.. they were just a click away.
He made it possible 8)
Please say thank you to Jason when you see him!! THANKS Jason!!! ;D
(Just click on the headers of results to sort the particular columns)

Keep that in mind for the Gary Lewis award.

Jason Poole is my nominee! Hi Frankie! ;D
REMINDER:
Next week, September 3rd, Handicap Leagues starts at 5pm! This means you must be signed in (you can have someone else sign you in who is present already) by 4:45 in order to be put on a card. No exceptions.
If you sign in on time, but fail to show up before tee off, you will get par +4 strokes for each hole you are late, regardless if you are sanctioned or not.
Sorry it has to be this way, but it's tough as it is getting started on time...stragglers can literally throw off the whole system.

Good Gibby! It is a process, any help is appreciated. You need to show up on time.
