Equipment / Re: bag choice

if you've only got 6 discs and plan to get more, you'll want to get a bag you can grow into.  innova, discraft and gateway have some nice simple single shoulder strap bags with a drink holder and room for 12-15 discs.  i have an old discraft bag that i used to cram 18 discs in that is still in great shape after 12 years.  they're all around $25-50.  with these traditional styles, be sure to look for the kind that have the ability to let you upgrade to quad straps (backpack style) straps later on.

if you plan to get a bit more serious, though, the recent surge of backpack style bags might be a better place to look.  they've all got the bells and whistles that you're looking for, and they save your back if you wear them correctly.  however, they're consistently double (or more) in cost what the regular style bags have been - upwards of $200-250!

I would be in favor of the sanctioning with two stipulations...

1. You have the choice to opt out of the sanctioning for any given week.  Some weeks or at some courses, weather etc I may not feel like having a round rated, but I would like to play for tags.

2.  There is a minimal amount of paperwork/time involved for Aaron.  I am more than willing to help out with the load if there is any, but if it becomes a chore than it may not be worth the trouble.

yeah i hear ya!  something about it being closed makes me want to play it even more!   :P

thanks for following up with the parks and rec, Frank!  I agree - if they're not in the know it seems like it shouldn't be down too long.  I searched all through shorewood's parks/rec websites and hadn't found anything either, so here's hoping it doesn't take long to get it back open.

Courses / Shorewood closed?
« on: December 04, 2012, 12:41:59 AM »
A few of us had a few hours to kill and decided to run by shorewood and play a round.  We got to the entrance to the park and it was blocked off by a large official construction ROAD CLOSED and PARK ACCESS CLOSED sign.   :'(  Anyone know whats up and how long it will be off limits?

We were there a week or so ago and had seen some minor construction going on but the course was playable...

I'd love to know when i can get back there, i wanna play that one a time or two before it gets too crazy outside!

sounds like the goobers tried to sell them all locally as well.  we're dealing with some real friggin winners here... pathetic.  obviously they're not geniuses... they'll get caught for sure.

if you guys need some help digging discs out or with any other maintenance on the course, hit me up.
