Shawn McCarthy
Shawn helped me with a number of things, last fall a basket ring #13 Channahon, spring, basket ring #1 Channahon, timber ring basket #18 Lockport. I think more, but I haven't noted. He is always there with a Great attitude! He brings people together when you're around him. He is an ambassador for Disc Golf in our area. Some on the list have created conflict with our community, not Shawn.

WEEK 22 - September 3, 2014
Second Half #9
Trinity Links, Lockport, IL

TEES
18 Holes  - Par 54
Short Tees
We skipped hole 15 and played an alternate after hole 4. A 320ish foot hole to the practice basket.

CONDITIONS
The temperature started out around 81 with a little humidity. The winds were around 8 mph with clear skies. By 8:00pm the temps dropped into the low 70s and very comfortably. It was another extremely nice summer night. The course was in great shape except hole 15 was muddy and wet. The mosquitoes were very hungry all night

NOTES

• In the Pro/Adv field Jesse “Uncle Jess” Saenz Jr. and Al “Lefty Al” Hermosillo take the victory by a stroke shooting a fantastic round of 41 (-13).  Al now jumps up alone into third place for the second half and cushions his third place overall placing. Jesse keeps his hopes alive for third place for the second half.

• In the Am/Nov field Mike “Got Game” Cembala & Steve “Friday Nights” Rachan take the top honors by shooting a fantastic round of 41 (-13). They completely obliterate the field by 6 strokes and tied the top Pro/Adv team. This one of the biggest margins of victory in league history. Nice shooting guys! This was also a huge win for both guys. Steve is now tied for second for the second half and he pretty much seals the deal for first place overall. Steve is now going for the TRIPLE CROWN. Mike now takes a two point lead for the second half and he inches his way closer to a top three finish for the overall. Ironically Steve will be chasing Mike to become one of the few TRIPLE CROWN winners in league history.

• The Round Barn date of September 17 has been moved to West Park. We will be playing the 18 hole layout which is 1-5 and jump and finish 12-24.
Spread the word please!

• 5:15 starts for the remainder of the year!

 • 3 Weeks left of the Second Half!
September 10, Community Park • Short Tees
September 17, West Park • Short Tees •18 holes only
September 24, Shorewood Park • Short Tees

• Playoff atmosphere is here! There’s a lot of thrash talking and a lot of unsettled nerves everywhere. Who is going to win and who is going to play spoiler. Stay tuned for the outcome of the September battles. Who’s going to be left crying in October!

• J-Town Fest 2014 is October 4!
