Aces and Chains

Aces and Chains is proud to present this B-Tier PDGA sanctioned tournament.

Two 18+ hole rounds at Highland Park, in Joliet, IL.

Highland Park is one of the toughest courses in the Joliet area. It is fast becoming a favorite with local tournament players. Playing thru a mostly wooded course, with shots requiring various shapes and lines, down into & over ravines, Thru young woods and old, with a high risk/reward ratio, it will test your mental and physical capabilities. Tee boxes are cement.

Pre-registration is highly encouraged. By pre-registering, you help us run a smoother tournament. Pre-register at http://www.acesandchains.com/node/790 or in person at the shop at 1706 W. Jefferson St. in Joliet.

If you Pre-register, you will get one tournament stamped disc of your choice from a large selection of tournament discs past and present, along with other goodies. Walk ups will receive an Aces and Chains gift card along with some goodies. It's definitely to your benefit to pre-register!

Day of Registration (if spots are available) and Check-In will be between 8am-9am both days. Please check in when you get there.

Players meeting will be held at 9:15am. Tee off at approx. 9:30am. Players will meet by the parking lot at tournament headquarters.

whats the difference in recreational, intermediate, novice?

Aces and Chains

It's all about the level of competition you'll face. Novice is the lowest division, followed by Rec, Int, Adv, and then Pro Open (the only division that get paid cash prizes.)

Both AMs and Pro's are paying the same amount in fees? Seems kind of odd to me...

TYPICALLY the higher the tier the higher the entry cost. A-tiers for ams, being the most expensive. ALSO, most of the time, the higher the tier, the larger the players pack. Ive had some with 2 discs, a tourney stamped pint glass, and a dry fit.

This maybe be something worthy of the entry fee, but Im sure Patrick will check back

yeah I'm pretty sure theres a very good reason for it. I'm not that huge of a tourney player but I dint mind the fee especially since its a B-tier event and it does come with a players pack.

Seems they are making it more beneficial to pre-register so you really get your moneys worth and then it helps them be prepared with knowing how many people will really show up making the experience better for everyone. I'm gonna start hitting up highland once or twice a week to get in some practice.

Yes, it would be odd if Ams and Pros had the same entry fee. That is not the case here though. I just didn't post the fee for the Pros. The Pro entry fee is $25 higher than the Ams, making it $60 + Ace and CTP + PDGA fee of $10 if you are not a member.

Also, just to be clear, only the Ams get a players pack. Everyone knows this, but since it's here in writing, I figured I would clarify just in case.
